ESET Browser Privacy & Security extension doesn't work without ESET product and for now there are some technical reasons in the background, why another Chromium/Firefox based browsers are not supported. We know about it and we're working on it so I believe you will see the extension working on Brave soon.

Brave browser is not supported. From which browser is this screenshot and how did you install it?

The extension is installed only into supported browsers. If a particular browser parasitizes another supported browser's extensions, we can't do anything about it.

I'm afraid we can't prevent Brave from reading the extension from Chrome or to prevent getting it from Chrome webstore via Brave. The point is not to install it since Brave is not a supported browser. We'll add a notice in the documentation and possibly KB as well.

With the 17.0.15.0 major ESET-update came the ESET Browser Privacy & Security extension installed for browsers.
Currently, this extension is nof fully running and working on both Brave Browser, Google Chrome and Firefox.
Are these start-up hickups from this new tooling/extenstion in the new ESET-version?

Gentlemen, I have just received a private message from an Eset employee, that investigating the logs I sent they localized the bug, and a fix will be rolled out soon. Until that, please use one of the temporary workarounds mentioned here in the forum thread.

Well, I guess we have "come full circle" on this discussion. So let's summarize the options:
    1. Local Chromecast dongle IP address exclusion. The Kaspersky article implies multiple addresses might be needed. Don't know fully what that is about but could imply router dynamic address assignment. Therefore static address assignment would be required as previously posted.
    2. Exclude port 8009 from SSL/TLS protocol scanning. No qualms with this one since it wasn't being previously scanned. I also believe other ports might need exclusion but "time will tell" on that one.
My own thoughts on this issue is the whole subject of allowing an IoT device direct access to your PC. But that's another separate topic discussion.
A footnote comment. Eset has "opened Pandora's Box" in regards to future issues in regards to performing SSL/TLS scanning of all ports. I for one, will avoid assistance on any of those issues.
