kurco received kudos from Nightowl in Linux ESET GUI does not show up
    Hi Nils,

currently we are not supporting MATE desktop, therefore GUI is not working. Most probably MATE support will be added in next major release.
Supported desktop environments could be found here: https://help.eset.com/eeau/7/en-US/installation.html?system_requirements.html

kurco gave kudos to zhopkins in EFS for Linux issue - eset_rtp(ertp_wait_for_reply) - Ubuntu 21.04
    Peter,
I was able to spin up a fresh VM and do some additional testing.  ESET Server Security v8.1.565.0 immediately starts logging eset_rtp errors in the main "messages" log file (even on a blank VM with just our base OS install).  The slightly newer version, v8.1.685.0, does not seem to cause these error messages.
With the latest version (8.1.685.0), I have noticed a strange behavior with the 'less' command, and I am trying to do some additional investigating to see if that issue is still related to the issue in this thread.  The less command (literally "less /var/log/messages") triggers a "Waiting for data... (interrupt to abort)" message on nearly every open of the log file.  This behavior is abnormal in our environment, so I want to be sure that the newer version of the antivirus is still not causing issues or delays when opening files.

    Peter,
    Some examples for you -
RHEL6 / Oracle / EXT4 local disks / CIFS remote shares RHEL7 / Oracle / EXT4 local disks / No remote shares RHEL7 / Icinga2 / EXT4 local disks / No remote shares RHEL8 / DNSMasq / XFS local disks / No remote shares I'm fairly certain that we are not using EDTD, since that is a separately licensed product?  It does not appear in the "Products & Licenses" section for the machines in the ESET PROTECT console.
Overall, I believe most of the servers (some physical, most virtual) managed to get through with only minor slowdowns, however, the server that runs our Icinga monitoring became extremely unresponsive, to the point where I was unable to login via SSH or the console (even with root credentials).  I had to push a task through the ESET Management Agent to stop the EFS daemon before I could log in.

    Hi andre.s,
is it possible to install "en_US.UTF-8" locale on this machine? it should help you get rid of these errors.

kurco received kudos from Mauricio Osorio in EFS installation does not work
    Hi Mauricio Osorio,
from that attached screenshot, it look like your machine doesn't have enough free space to successfully complete installation with all necessary dependencies. Look at line 7 in screenshot "No space left on device", probably issue of some of yours mount point (maybe this one /dev/xvda3, it's 100% full)
There is nothing much to see in exported logs. But what I can see there, are missing installation files and incorrect permissions of installed files.
    Regards,
    Peter

kurco received kudos from Peter Randziak in How to Install File Security 7.1 on offline network server?
    Hi,
If you want to install EFS without internet access, you need to install all dependencies manually by downloading their packages from centos repositories. EFS dependencies could be found in unpacked rpm package (bin installer unpacks packages when executed with -n parameter).
[user@testmachine ~]$ rpm -qpR ./efs-7.1.561.0.x86_64.rpm /bin/sh /etc/cron.d /usr/bin/crontab gcc kernel-devel make perl rpmlib(CompressedFileNames) <= 3.0.4-1 rpmlib(PayloadFilesHavePrefix) <= 4.0-1 You need to install all this packages before installing EFS, but most of them will probably also have some additional dependencies. Packages are accessible from centos mirror, e.g. http://mirror.centos.org/centos/6/os/x86_64/Packages/.

kurco received kudos from Mike_Kintaru in Install Eset File Server (error)
    Hi Mike,
ESET File Security for Linux supports only UTF-8 & ANSI X3.4-1968 codeset. Probably codeset configuration of your machine is different. Changing locale settings to UTF-8 should resolve your issue. For example ,if you are using US english, this is an working locale "en_US.UTF-8" and this a non-working locale "en_US.iso88591".
    Peter
