Enable Tools -> Alerts and notifications -> Send event notifications by mail

    (set on diagnostic)

Mail is being sent; Subject "ESET Smart Security: Warning", but Body is empty

(looks like it's empty both for notifications and virus alerts; but, cannot be sure, because - it's empty :-) )

    Best regards

    Tomo

P.S. I just noticed same problem on ESS v4 Business edition..

Endpoint Security 5 HRV looks like it's working fine:

    "...

1.7.2013. 16:54:02 – tijekom izvršavanja programa Aktualizacija na računalu COMPUTERNAME pojavilo se sljedeće upozorenje: Updater: retval = 0x0000, failures: 0

    ..."

    Hello Tomo,

we will try to reproduce it in our testing environment and we will let you know.

  2. Hello Denton23,

    1. it is a limit for single file .iso is an archive so even if it is larger than the limit smaller files inside can be scanned. The files in the archive do not impose any risk as far as they need to be extraced before use.

    2. This can be true in case the files were already scanned with the same virus signature database and the results are cached.

    3. Can you please give us some more examples, Neverwinter Nights is really old, unsupported by it's vendor and their official servers are already shut down.

    Regards,

  3. I have to precise that is the folder C:\ProgramData\ESET\ESET NOD32 Antivirus\Diagnostics that is being populated with tens of GB's.

More precisely, now it's with 51,1 GB of  data.

I'm sorry but I have to uninstall v7 beta and install the stable release again.

    Hello,

That particular folder is growing on my machine also but not as much as yours. It seems to be adding 2 files totaling around 200 MB every one to two hours. My folder size just hit 3GB and I have only had the beta installed for about 2 days. It seems to be growing at the rate of 1.5 to 2 GB a day. I have not seen this before in previous versions either.

    Hello,

That folder seems to collect diagnostics such as full memory dumps and mini dump files but as to why so many and the amount keeps growing? Is the presence of these files and the fact that more are constantly being created an indication that my installation of ESS is malfunctioning in some way? I am now concerned that my ESS is not functioning properly...

    Hello,

in that folder dumps of ESET service are being written in case of crash.

Please pack last few ones together with ESET SysInspector log, upload them to safe location and send me a private message with download link and reference to this post.

In the meantime you can disable creating of next ones by following these steps:

Open ESET Smart Security/ ESET NOD32 Antivirus -> press F5 -> Tools -> Diagnostics -> select "do not generate memory dump" from the Dump type drop-down menu and confirm by OK.

    Regards,

  4. Hello LocknetSSmith,

SysInspector creates an static snapshot so it doesn't allow us to analyze such cases much, although it is really valuable source of information.

The only think we could do with it is to search for drivers and applications that are causing issues when installed on the same system for example other resident AV or to create virtual machine with very similar SW environment.

In such case full memory dump would be helpful, but if you have opened a support case with ESET Support just resolve it with them and let us know. I am really interested in what is causing the issue.

    Thank you.

    Regards,

  5. Hello LocknetSSmith,

the ERA is just distributing the settings to the clients.

The settings will work on clients, which are in the same domain, the ERA server needn't to be necessarily in the same domain.

The groups and users are distributed and interpreted on clients as their SID so you cannot share these setting across different domains.

Hopefully I clarified it a bit.

    Regards,

  6. Hello GothicDeath,

we tried to reproduce the issue in our testing environment, but we weren't able to measure (we were measuring time of complete reboot of guest OS -Windows7) any slowdown.

Could you please provide us with SysInspector log from the host OS so we could get an overview about it?

Open ESET Smart Security -> Tools -> ESET SysInspector -> Create -> name it and wait for completion, then right click on the log and select Export...

You can send me PM with the compressed log.

    Regards,

could you please provide us with:

    1. SysInspector log from your system - Open ESET Smart Security -> Tools -> ESET SysInspector -> Create -> name it and wait for competion, then right click on the log and select Export...

    2. Processmonitor log capturing events in the system before you encounter the error (in case you get the error right after the boot you need to use Procmon's boot logging option) pdf. manual is enclosed.

Compress the logs and send me download link via PM.

  8. Hello puff-m-d,

    Hello,

Is it OK to enable pre-release updates on the beta? If my memory serves me, I think in the past there has been a beta or two that it was advised not to enable the pre-release updates. I just wanted to confirm one way or the other before I did. Thanks...

you can use pre-release updates for beta, but anyway we usually release new modules for beta testers in advance.
