The business version is already available in version 7, you can download it at https://www.eset.com/int/business/endpoint-antivirus-linux/download/ according to what you say, I guess you are a business user (license over 5 seats) It is fully manageable by means of ESET Security Management Center, including the activation (user-name and password is not used for it anymore). The on-access scanning is being handled by our own in-kernel module and the whole core product is based on a new, modern and maintained code so the whole UX should be much better for you. Please reproduce the issue and provide us with 1. screenshots of the situation 2. output from the Log collector script https://support.eset.com/en/kb6159-run-the-info-getcommand-on-a-linux-virtual-machine-and-send-the-logs-to-eset-technical-support 3. output from cat /etc/redhat-release You can pack them together, upload to a safe location and send me the download details over a private message.   6. Hello @Ricky Martin I would bet, you have the "Create update mirror" option enabled, causing the update to be so large. Disable that option and the download will be significantly smaller. Note that the initial download will still be quite large, but the incremental ones will be very small, as Marcos already mentioned. Peter

Hello @Mike_Kintaru, I checked it with a colleague and it seems you have the license already added in a different EBA account, registered with "li**.****nh@gmail.com", it has the same company name as the one registered on "li*******@nqh-***hitects.vn" (the one mentioned by you. In it, there is indeed no license). So use it with the EBA account registered on "li**.****nh@gmail.com", in case that is not possible let us know so we will remove the license from the first EBA account, so you can add it to the one desired...   11. Hello @Phil_S, we would need a dump of the process memory to check what is going on there. If you see again such high resource consumption , please navigate to Advances settings -> Tools -> Diagnostics and set the dump type to Full. Hit the Create button next to Create diagnostic dump option. Once complete, create a log with ESET Log Collector, upload the generated archive to a safe location and send me a private message with the download details to check. Peter

Hello Peter, I would first check https://help.eset.com/esmc_admin/72/en-US/sg_server_tasks_ad.html Important ESMC Server 7.2 on Windows uses the encrypted LDAPS (LDAP over SSL) protocol by default for all Active Directory (AD) connections. If you upgrade an earlier ESMC version to ESMC 7.2 and you were using the Active Directory synchronization, synchronization tasks will fails in ESMC 7.2. For a successful AD connection over LDAPS, configure the following: 1.The domain controller must have installed a machine certificate. To issue a certificate for your domain controller, follow the steps below: a)Open the Server Manager, click Manage > Add Roles and Features and install the Active Directory Certificate Services > Certification Authority. A new Certification Authority will be created in Trusted Root Certification Authorities. b)Navigate to Start > certmgr > Certificates - Local Computer > Personal > right click the empty pane > All Tasks > Request New Certificate > Enroll Domain Controller role. c)Verify that the issued certificate contains the FQDN of the domain controller. 2.When providing connection settings to the AD server, type the FQDN of the domain controller (as provided in the domain controller certificate) in the Server or Host field. IP address is no longer sufficient for LDAPS. Peter

The response from the research lab is not guaranteed, the researchers usually reply if they need further data regarding the sample(s) reported, which was not this case. The application was carefully analyzed and turned out to meet criteria of potentially unwanted applications which is an optional detection so the user need to enable it, if he want to have such apps detected.   19. Hello @AlexTMI, The issue is resolved by a module update so there is no need for new installation package for any version. When it comes to version 5 it is quite old and is not able to provide the level of protection as the modern versions, please see our EoL policy at https://support.eset.com/en/kb3592-is-my-eset-product-supported-eset-end-of-life-policy-business-products I would recommend to schedule an upgrade to a modern and fully supported version according to it. Hello @offbyone, Yes we use the permanent connections, see https://help.eset.com/esmc_install/71/en-US/installation_deployment_scenarios.html "ESMC Server is connected to the ESET Management Agents using permanent connections. Despite the permanent connection, data transmission occurs only once during the connection interval." Do not have personal experience / data, but I would for sure keep it that way, as establishing the secure connection is quite resource intensive... Peter

From it it seems that the logs were collected, when the issue was not happening. In case you encounter the issue again please: 1. collect the logs when the issue occurs 2. record Sample of the esets_proxy during the load 3. Provide us with info, when the issue happens, if you are able to say that 4. How often do you face the issue Send me the logs / responses via the private message and I will open a ticket with our dev team to have it checked. Peter

  24. @junyuanma the issue seems to be really strange to me. I would probably start with a reboot of the PC and wifi to see if the issue manifests after it... especially this part "I also noticed that my phone, which is under the same Wifi, also has difficulty openning pages when the issue happens. Pages can be loaded, but much slower than normal." does not make much sense to me... Peter
  25. @MRutkowski, thank you for the info. please remove the Cleaner 10001 from the modules folder (either just delete it or in case you have a backup of the original cleaner, restore it), it should not be used except of the issue verification. Let the product update, enable Self-defense back and reboot the system. Official fixing version 1211.1 is already available on the update servers. If the startup scan stucks again, provide us with a dump from ekrn.exe and let us know how long the scan had been running. Peter
