Siagian 0 Posted yesterday at 07:11 AM Share Posted yesterday at 07:11 AM Today, we are experiencing a problem with our Windows Server. Suddenly, we cannot access it via Remote Desktop, and it is also not responding to ping requests. This issue started today; prior to this, we were able to access the server without any problems. We checked the log files, and there are no blocks preventing access to the server.
Administrators Marcos 5,308 Posted yesterday at 07:18 AM Administrators Share Posted yesterday at 07:18 AM Have you upgraded to ESET Server Security v11.1 recently? If so, it's very likely caused by not having trusted networks set up properly. RDP is a typical infection vector so it's crucial that it's permitted only from trusted networks. ESET Server Security v11.1 can be installed with or without a firewall. If the firewall is enabled, RDP is allowed only from trusted networks. However, we have also introduced a new feature in products without the firewall called RDP Access Restriction which, by default, permits RDP connections only from trusted networks. Trusted networks are private and domain Windows networks by default. To temporarily allow RDP connections from all networks, change this setting through a policy to "All networks" until you set up trusted networks:
viper.patrick 0
Thanks @Marcos, Is there any estimate of when we will be able to control this settings using ESET PROTECT On-Prem policy? It is currently missing from the latest 11.1.16.0 version (although it is present on ESET PROTECT Cloud 5.5.10.1).

Is it a server exposed to the Internet that is accessed via RDP from various IP addresses directly? No VPN is used?
thae 12
I don't have the issue with RDP, that's OP. I just chimed in that I also do not see the setting as seen in your screenshot in my ESET Server Policy. Same problem as @viper.patrick has.
