Borealis17 0
Hey there, Since version 8, I have issues with accessing printers and shares from NAS. For the record, I have many computers registered with ESET Protect centralization. I ran many tests and the guilty module is obviously firewall, which rules are not editable in ESET GUI on local computers. Disabling totally the firewall is the way to make everything work flawlessly. I read in other threads that editing rules won't be available before 2025 on local GUI. I have also understood that these rules can be edited in ESET Protect, but I would prefer to have the ability to edit them on each customer computer according to the policy. Each user has its own ecosystem, and security needs to be fitted for each case. Have I missed something in order to make firewall rules editable on each computer ? Thank you for feedback. Kind regards
Administrators Marcos 5,257 Posted Tuesday at 07:42 AM Administrators Share Posted Tuesday at 07:42 AM Do you have the IP of NAS in the trusted zone?
Borealis17 0
Hey Marcos, Thanks for your feedback. No, I haven't any configuration policy for ESET Endpoint in ESET Protect Cloud. As our MacOS workstations are in different locations and network topologies, I can't have a centralized configuration for all of them. Maybe I can find this trusted zone in local GUI and add IPs of NAS and printers locally.
ESET Staff Robertos 17 Posted 14 hours ago ESET Staff Share Posted 14 hours ago Business firewall does not include firewall setup in local GUI. Management of business firewall is possible only by ESET Protect. If you need FW setup in local GUI, you should switch home version ESET Cyber Security of version 8.2 which will be release in cca 1-2 months. Home 8.2 will have the same firewall as business version, but with local setup.
