Samsung update (One UI 6.1 - Android 14) lock phone with ESET (Application Control)

Recommended Posts

Good morning.

After updating the System on the phone: Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra, the phone hung up during restart with the information that "This operation is not allowed, please contact the Administrator" and nothing could be done.
On device there is installed: ESET Endpoint Security for Android - web edition (Device owner mode).
Only removing it from politics (Application Control - block app beside Google Play Store) completely helped.
I think the reason was some New UI Wizard from Samsung, which was launched after installing the new FW and was blocked due to the policy: Application Control  Blocking  Block unknown sources (blocks applications from outside the official Play Store).

Therefore, please let me know what exceptions should be added to the application blocking rule to allow the application to run after updates?
Maybe it's possible to allow all applications from the vendor, in this case Samsung, with a wildcard?

Please raise a support ticket from the mobile phone via the built-in support contact form as further investigation by developers will be needed.
