ESS8 windows update

Whenever I activate ess8 protection, windows 8.1 update stops to work. It shows :

 

Windows  could not search for new updates.

 

Error(s) found:

 

code 80072EFD Windows update ran into a problem.

 

If I disable ess8 the updates work as usual.

 

What steps are needed to solve this, please?

Do you have SSL scanning enabled by chance?

I don´t. it's set to Do not scan SSL protocol.

[EDIT] : made another test. Sorry, it works when I disable the firewall not the antivirus.

[EDIT2]: Restored the default rules of the firewall and its working again.
