Virtual Drive after Fresh windows installion

Recommended Posts

I had to install a new Copy of Windows due to a blue screen error. Everything got fixed but now I'm unable to Open my Virtual Drive file.

When I went to open my .EED File/ Virtual drive i created, It asked me which program did i want to open it with.

I'm assuming its the "ESET Secure Data" When i click on the one with the "e" Icon No prompt appears for a password just a quick loading circle

When i use the Secure Data with the lock on it I get a prompt about how it can't open the file (shown in pictures attached)

Does anyone have an idea on how to access my files again?

Btw Secure Data is enabled, I did a uninstall of the program in safe mode using a .exe ESET provided me and ESET is Updated and i included the logs gathered

Thank you!

You have DesLock installed, however, Secure Data is a part of ESET Smart Security Premium (ESSP) so you cannot have both installed at a time.

Uninstall it and browse for the eed file via Secure Data in ESSP:

Thank you so much for the quick reply.

I'm sorry if i make this difficult but i can not find DesLock on my computer though it pops up in the menu for the "Open with" tab.

I uninstalled ESET with the Safe Mode and reinstalled it from the website. I can only see ESET Security installed in my control panel. Ill Attach some pictures to show you what i mean. I also see from google searching DesLock got renamed to Endpoint or something, which i cannot locate either in the control panel.

Also when i go into ESSP my Secure Data does not give me an option to locate a .EED file. Ill attach a photo of what I'm seeing

Thank you for your time and helping! this was the first real help I've gotten so far.137780076_Screenshot(15).png.b5bb51f65b5f6bd6c272b939d0b2a263.png1951980360_Screenshot(16).png.0ba6eeb859fece5f8f4eb7f6090cbeb2.png

I suspect the DesLock service is still installed and running at system startup time.

Open Win Control Panel -> System & Security-> Administrative Tools -> Services. Look for the service associated with DesLock. If found, stop it. Then disable the service. Then test to determine if this resolves the issue.

I found the DesLock in Services and stopped it it and disabled it.

Sorry for the difficulty. I also restarted my computer to make sure the changes took affect.

Looks like Eset Secure Data feature uses select features of DesLock+: https://www.eset.com/us/file-encryption/ . Sorry about that.

Set the service back to Automatic if that is what it was originally and start the service.

On your PC, search for this folder, C:\Program Files\DESlock+, to determine if DesLock+ is installed.

Thank you! and sorry for the late reply. I looked through both program files and there is no DESlock+ anywhere I can locate. I found a work around, If i use ESET and use Secure data to create a new file named the same as the file im trying to access it will give me a link so i can enter my password. I have to change the name of the file im trying to access and change it back and access it from clicking on the link.

This is the only way to access it and i need to do this every time i want to access the .EED file.
