davidenco 1 Posted December 12, 2018 Posted December 12, 2018 In ESMX 6.5, I used the "Header with the originating IP" found under Server > Mail Transport Protection > Advanced Settings, and found it especially useful for cases where our email was ever temporarily held by our secondary MX as ESMX was treating the originating IP address as the secondary MX. In ESMX 7.0, this option has been removed, but there is no mention of the removal in the change logs or release notes. As far as the documentation is concerned, there is no option and never was. In ESMC 7.0, the policy for ESMX is labelled "V6+" so the option should still be visible for V6 clients, but it's not, even if creating a brand new policy. Where has the option gone?
Administrators Marcos 5,469 Posted December 12, 2018 Administrators Posted December 12, 2018 It seems that the option was removed due to a new algorithm for selecting sender's address implemented in EMSX v7. The option can still be configured via a configuration xml file if really needed or to keep it enabled after upgrade.
ESET Staff filips 44 Posted December 18, 2018 ESET Staff Posted December 18, 2018 Hi, Another reason for removing the option from screens was that it was misused most of the time (lowering the detection rate of antispam engine). However, it's still supported by the backend and can be configured using XML.
