I have rolled back Windows 10 RS5 to RS4 on my main desktop PC.  Both Firefox and Thunderbird now work fine on that machine, without the exclusions that I had needed to set up for these programs in NOD32's Protocol Filtering.

As an aside : on my work laptop, Windows 10 RS5 had completely wrecked any audio functionality.  Rolling the laptop back to RS4 restored that (fortunately, its Thunderbird's functionality had not been affected).

Don't you just LOVE Micro$oft...  IMHO they have really shot themselves in the foot with this "Creators Update", but since their systems are so widespread I would suspect that they will just be able to shrug it off and get away with it ?

And when updating to RS4 they broke the mic functionality with their new permissions without telling anyone so you needed to spend time to search on the internet what the hell has happened, and now with their RS5 they started removing files from drives and problems here and there , I don't know why they don't make the update spend more time in testing, atleast a delayed release is a better than now-unstable release

You can delay the updates a bit read this: https://blogs.technet.microsoft.com/surface/2017/07/28/the-windows-semi-annual-channel-and-targeted-deployment/

See also this schedule: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/itpro/windows-10/release-information

The above Microsoft references for delaying of Win 10 Feature updates only apply to the Enterprise and Educational vers..

In Win 10 Pro, there are options to delay the Feature update which I believe is only for 30 days.

In the Win 10 Home ver., no such capability exists. All that can be done is to set your active network connection to "metered." This will also block any other Win 10 updates from downloading also. Well, maybe. Microsoft has in the past ignored the metered setting and downloaded updates anyway. This is especially true for critical security updates.

Also Win 10 Pro: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/deployment/update/waas-servicing-channels-windows-10-updates

And it is up to 365 days regarding the delay option (feature updates): https://www.thewindowsclub.com/delay-the-windows-10-anniversary-update
(security updates is 30 days)
