Smart Scan Scanning All Files Every Time

I am trialing Eset CyberSecurity Pro and ran Smart Scan yesterday.  I ran it again today to see how much faster it would be and it is scanning every single file again!  Isn't it supposed to skip the files that haven't changed?

After an update all but whitelisted files will be re-scanned. If you compare the number of scanned files, it could be at least slightly lower after an update and running another scan. If you run a second scan before the next update, fewer files should be scanned.

Thanks.  By update do you mean a virus definition update which can be multiple times a day or a general version update?

I meant a module update, ie. an update of the detection engine too. Not re-scanning files would be a huge security hole as previously scanned and undetected malicious files would not be detected after a detection has been added.
