While I can't speak for ESET if the v8 engine will be updated internally - the functionality of the software lends to this, meaning, it will happen once the update servers are correctly populated. As I've indicated previously - bang a supported offline installer over-top, given if it's available in your language as below.
International users are reminded the following languages for the v8 engine are currently supported.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Available languages: English, Français canadien (French Canadian), Slovenčina (Slovak), Čeština (Czech) and Deutsch (German).
* All other languages will be available soon.

Well, I still have seen no info on whether ESET plans to push out V8 via the in-built updater or not.
NO! The product update is baked in.
Users have a choice to wait or use an offline or online installer.

Bang on offline installer over top and get it over with, Joe. It may be a server population issue.
Good news, Mr. siljaline.
I figured as much but I wanted to hear from a REAL expert.
That's very kind, thank you. Merci pour le kudo, aussi

Thanks for that but it does not help. It's a long standing UI bug that was never fixed. I advise users in advance to be aware of it so that they are not alarmed it's a virus.

So this issue is about 4 years old?!
This was when it was first noticed but the problem could be older than that. It's crept into Endpoint products, too.

There's a nine page thread at the old ESET board at Wilders - now archived but it still can be queried.

Let's see if the boys at Virus Labs can make us all happy over the weekend.

It's an old screen capture - doesn't mean I don't still see it even with Endpoint. Here's another. The old fix doesn't suppresses the flags

Thanks Siljaline. Will wait for couple of days to settle. I still love ESET!
Most welcome ! ESET have issued an ALERT - Regular updates may take longer than normal—large update size is due to significant product upgrades
The latest ESET product update is larger than usual and may cause longer than expected download times.
The rest of the ALERT - hxxp://kb.eset.com/esetkb/index?page=content&id=ALERT41 | note that this link will die once the issue is resolved.
ESET are working on it. Flush your update caches and let your software do the rest of the work. Not having the absolute latest virus signature definitions is not the end of the planet.
This is an abnormal situation which has been explained already and is in the process of being remedied (fixed).
Thanks for choosing ESET.

One of the Helpers from here has started a thread at Wilders forums.
hxxp://www.wilderssecurity.com/threads/nod32-not-updating-virus-database-18-sept-2014.368331/
I wouldn't expect ESET staff to monitor two threads on different forums. I've made ESET aware of this ongoing problem via email as it is a problem.

Rogue website addresses are added at ESET's virus labs on a blacklist: they cannot be excluded, if this is what you are saying.

I must have carried over scan email from another version - I have deselected email scanning as I see in the scan progress all it's looking at now is email files.
All my email is plain text with HTML rules via the client disabled. Mozilla Thunderbird is my default email client. -
Running Endpoint version 5.0.2229.1 on Windows 7 - 32 bit.
Issue: advanced scan with email files in advanced parameter setup selected takes approximately 2.5 hours to complete. Screen capture will show results from last scan.
This includes a 1.5TB external drive.I'm finding the length of the total scan time too long. Am I at risk deselecting scanning email files ? I do realize they are scanned in real-time but I like to scan them all the same as they sit on my main drive.
Feedback and comments on-topic would be appreciated. -

An infected Hosts file is a fair indicator of a fully infected system. Have you tried a full scan ? Wait for an ESET Staff Member to assist you in disinfecting your PC.

Keep coming back and thanks for the feedback here and elsewhere.
At least i have siljaline to keep me up-to-date.

Announcements of this build were done (only) via the Forum link but this should have also been done by way of Support News as well, as I've already noted.
We've noted your comments elsewhere and we appreciate that feedback as well.
siljaline, my Canadian buddy tipped me off to it last night and I installed it and it seems fine.
I haven't yet studied all the posts here but how are we informed with the beta updates? Is it done by the program itself?
-
Yeah, it's really not a big problem.
I've asked ESET North America via Twitter to verify that both links are in effect owned by ESET Sro
While it would seem that Virus-radar.com & virusradar.com are both owned by ESET, we await and official statement.

Many are not able to obtain the new version via the internal update feature. It has been 2 days since the announcement was made and I'm hearing from various channels that few have been successful in doing so. It might be time for ESET to panic and have a look as to why the internal update mechanism isn't working.
