Hello bbahes. No, we plan to keep the limitation set to 250 seats and further focus on simplification of ECA for the small customers. We are however working on the full ESMC Cloud version, which should be introduced during 2019. At this time, I can´t specified more detailed time-frame.

Thanks for reply. I'm having meeting today with local distributor regarding moving our licenses to cloud solution. This is valuable information.

In the future version, the plan is to have fully integrated Full Disk Encryption as that is the most commonly used functionality. If someone will want to use other features, like Removable media encryption, or E-mail encryption, he will still have to use the Enterprise Server.

Is there a technical or architectural reason not to include Removable media encryption in ESMC/ECA?

Probably the scanner crashed or the computer was restarted or turned off while it was running. Are you able to reproduce it when running a full disk scan?

Yes, we restarted test workstation during initial scan in order to test feedback on status.

Full disk scan does show status as Interrupted by user:

  4. Hi!

Still testing v7 products. When we install latest EES on client and client executes reboot the initial scan never completes.

In the Log files it shows status "Scanning in progress"

    image.thumb.png.387b4d48333347731e29608ef6f1fd4f.png

    However, scanning is not running:

    image.thumb.png.3eb23c9a0020d6ef376ea0cecfd4c2d9.png

Is this by design? Endpoint products are not aware of situation when something is interrupted?

Also I don't see that this is reported to ESMC.

I'm not sure if this is also by design or I should look in other places, but I see difference in Logs on Endpoint v7 and ESMC v7:

    Endpoint:

    ESMC:

    image.thumb.png.f920897b51e13e8da540c988af4d68c1.png

Currently we can access every log from client on console in v5 product:

    image.png.d6ec01e5f4341d92c771c193bcd8e61f.png

Is this not possible in v7 product line, or do I need to look on different page in ESMC?

    Regards!

Description: LAST EXECUTION column in Server Tasks
Detail: I can't seem to be able to find Last Execution column in Server Tasks? It would be useful to have same information  in columns available for same categories of information. At the moment we have to open each task and select Executions tab.

I didn't say we were not considering it at all. All suggestions and wishes that users post here or report through local sellers are tracked for further evaluation. No definitive verdict has been made yet regarding FQDN support.

This approach to firewall rules without FQDN has not changed since version 2.7 when I started using ESET products. Is this feature considered as something that's waiting for release or something that needs to be even evaluated as useful?

  7. 15 hours ago, Marcos said:

FQDN in firewall rules is not currently supported. Even if it was in the future, such rules would be dependent on IP addresses retrieved from previous responses to DNS queries so they might not work at all times.

If DNS has problems then you have bigger problems.

Is this single mayor reason why ESET is not considering this feature?

  8. 4 minutes ago, MichalJ said:

Reason for not having is a simple result of internal resources and prioritization.

ESET as a software vendor can´t support every single use-case of every single customer. As every such thing, would mean further development, testing and maintenance and therefore less features in other products. We did not experience significant demand for something like it on the market, as there are workarounds. Linux admins can setup their own Linux instances, and install both components on the same machine, so this use-case is very niche. Secondly, we would like to focus on cloudification of the MDM, as that´s the thing that makes the most sense for everyone.

    Thanks for clarification. :)

This question is off topic since this is "Encryption" forum. Anyways, I for one don't think this is a good idea since both are resource demanding products and having both running within a single VA would not do any good.

I agree, but since initial question included three products I saw no problem including fourth :)

Regarding resource demand, I can't comment that, since I don't have numbers to compare workload.

It would be interesting to have a chat about that topic.

@sindbad The process of acquisition of Deslock inc. was finished this year. AFAIK, we will work on proper rebranding of Deslock applications to ESET Endpioint Encryption during 2019 (we won´t do a major redesign of the Deslock application, just rebrand it, slightly adjust the color scheme). We are also working on FDE integration into ESMC.

With regards to @bbahes comment about MDM, we plan to move it fully to cloud, however I can´t specify any details at this time and no specific plans are in place.

Any plans to integrate MDM and ESMC  for on premise VA?

Will we see a design change?

    Eset secure authentication looks good

    Eset antivirus/era looks good

Eset deslock does not really fit in.

Design change in what sense? Conceptual or visual change?

I have problem with MDM being separate appliance from ESMC and DESLock+ beeing separate product (requires Windows server license).
Most, third party products offer MDM and Encryption integrated with endpoint protection and offer management from single console.

DESLock+ was acquired in 2015 so I would expect some form of integration in 2019.

    ZONE.png

You only have this option if you have defined Zones in policy that is applied before or after this policy you are editing.

However, as @Marcos said, there is no need to have "prepend" option since it does not matter in which order you get list of zones on client.

On the other hand, "append" is option to add this list of zones to previous zone list, or just replace if needed. If you used v5 version this is something that was problematic or impossible to achieve.

In my case, I have single policy in test environment so I don't have these options:

    Hi,

Thanks for the reply , So i have doubt ? Why 'append'  is an option for zone ?

What is the use case of append  in zone

    Thanks

    Can you post screenshot?

    Yes.

But only when it's  available in the repository?

    Because I saw notification:

ESET Endpoint Security and ESET Endpoint Antivirus versions 7.0.2091, 6.6.2089 and 6.5.2132.2 have been released

    Release Date: November 13, 2018

ESET Endpoint Antivirus and ESET Endpoint Security versions 7.0.2091, 6.6.2089 and 6.5.2132.2 have been released and are available for download.

    * Version 6.5.2132.2 is only available in the repository.

At the moment my only option is to push upgrade from ESMC?

  15. 2 minutes ago, MartinK said:

In case you started upgrade task from console, it should upgrade both ESMC Server and Webconsole (and also AGENT itself). Just to be sure, version 7.0.72.0 is version of this release as whole bundle, and it contains ESMC components, with their specific versions. Specific versions are described in KB3690 and once upgraded, you should see following version in Webconsole's about dialog:

ESET Security Management Center (Server), Version 7.0 (7.0.471.0)
ESET Security Management Center (Web Console), Version 7.0 (7.0.429.0)

in case you are using ESMC Server for Linux.

Why this disparity in version numbering?

  16. 3 minutes ago, MartinK said:

Upgrade task is standard client task, so progress can be monitored in client details of AGENT installed on the same machine as is ESMC Server. In most cases upgrade is so fast, that you will just notice short outage of service, during which you will be log out. According to previous screenshot with version, I guess you already upgraded, as you have version 7.0.471.0 and 7.0.429.0.

OK. How to upgrade ESET Security Management Center to version 7.0.72.0? This is separate process like in ERA5 I could update console and server separately?

    Hi!

Do you have policy to push upgrade by regions? I don't see in ESMC any notification that upgrade is available, other than RSS feed on Dashboard.
Is there a option to manually trigger check for available upgrades?

    My version:
ESET Security Management Center (Server), Version 7.0 (7.0.451.0)
ESET Security Management Center (Web Console), Version 7.0 (7.0.413.0)

    Note: This is test VM.

After half an hour I got message that update is available, but version remains same.

I wonder, it gave me this message. wWhat exactly Wait until ESMC Server is updated means? How do I check progress and where?
