Hello guys,
few moments ago we released Anti-stealth support module 1124 for pre-release users which allows latest MS security patches to be installed.
If you want to receive it set your product to receive pre-release updates and let us know.
The distribution should continue to general public users in upcoming days, if not issues will be found.
Regards, P.R.
So ESET somehow do decide which MS updates gets installed unlike @Marcos said...
What is the reason for this module to do that? And does that module needs to be updated for every MS security update?
@howardagoldberg I am on pre-release and with this module update i got 2 new MS updates: KB4074595 and KB4058258

Let me google that for you...
P.S. Google does not bite.... yet
-
Quite alarming that ESET is apparently preventing Windows updates...

I am sorry I do not understand. What do I need to enable and where?

Maybe you can avoid uninstalling your current AV with this article:
-
I would suggest to install it again and after remove it. It has something to do with having ESET installed while upgrading to Windows 10.
I found this article but not how to fix that dialog: https://support.eset.com/kb3747/?locale=en_EN

Seeing the username and the domain name i guess it is his domain.
So https://support.eset.com/kb141/ applies here.

In over 3 years and 3 pc's , I never got any HIPS related alert from NOD32.
Seeing all these threads , I start to believe that HIPS is a pure cosmetic item, with zero functionality.
You don't always get an message.
One time (July 2017) I was unable to install an program. It was hanging... even while I was running it as admin.
Turned out it was HIPS, disabled that, restarted my PC. And then the installation went fine.
Just pointing out that it does not always give an notification. -
Try installing ESET Internet Security see this: https://forum.eset.com/topic/13539-eset-smart-security-has-been-replaced-by-eset-internet-security-in-version-11/
And then use your new license key.

I just found out that Driver Booster 5 Free can update much more than Wise Driver Care.

Hi, whats up?
if I set the Hips in learning mode and at the same time my browser wants to write to a folder/file then Hips will assign a rule like This:
Source: browser//operation: write to file//Traget: All files
Why all files? seems the hips don't understand it should only set the allow rule for a specific file(user:\broswer\browser folder), not my whole hard drive! The same story for registry and ...I Want Hips to set Rules based on the what is happening and in real time! it won't limit the actions it just allows for everything(like that auto allow rule for ask mode lol)! whats the point of learning more?! what if smth want to exploit that application?(in my case browser)
Eset I consider this as a bug! pls, consider a fix for this issue! -
By the looks of the GUI it seems like you are running an old version of ESET Mobile Security.
Go to Google Play to update your version.
-
Do you run the installer as admin? The code indicates you don't have enough privileges to stop system services.

9540 was the database version of last Sunday december 24th. Where do you expect it to say "up-to-date"? Maybe post an screenshot to elaborate this...

That is the reason you see those *P numbers.
-
Do you have the "Pre-release server" option selected as update server in advanced settings? (Menu -> Antivirus -> Advanced settings)

I think macros will report it if he considers it as a bug! it's not a bug but like a bug!this is a weakness in windows!but Eset can fix it!
Well since you are counting on one persons "good will" instead of following the official procedure. You should not expect it to be fixed within an short time.

I suggest you follow the steps indicated on the following webpage: https://www.eset.com/int/security-vulnerability-reporting/

Where is the live chat button and the telephone numbers for support on these pages?
Phone numbers are here at least: https://www.eset.com/int/about/contact/
-
In the footer of the webpage of ESET you got an link "Contact" which brings you to the phone numbers. (at least when I visit the website it does)
-
It is downloaded automatic every day. In the home screen you see an activity log.
There you should see notifications like "Updated detection modules".
Next to the "scan icon" you can also see "Modules updated XX time ago".
The current screenshots in the kb doesn't match the new app version of ESET.
