Hello.
Worked as expected here.
Created a file eicar.bat on my desktop, edited the file and just pasted in the EICAR string (shown in your message). As soon as I saved the file, ESET real-time popped up with the expected alert.

Hello @MrWrighty
You are correct.
I was making the point to @bvj that his statement "Tomcat uses log4j. You obviously don't know what you're talking about." is misleading and doesn't apply in this ESET situation.

Hello.
"As of Tomcat 5.5, Apache's Java Commons Logging (JCL) technology is used throughout Tomcat. JCL is a lightweight API for Java applications that allows hierarchical logging to be supported across all log levels, independent of logging implementation. This means that rather being limited to a specific hard-coded framework, you can choose the solution that works for you with only a small amount of extra configuration.
... The two most common logging implementations used for Tomcat - the included JULI implementation, and Log4j, a popular, feature-rich implementation compatible with JCL."

You can configure TOMCAT to use log4j but just stating that TOMCAT uses log4j is incorrect.

Hello.
This is why you should be using the official ESET Russia site:
-
Thank you for the very prompt reply.
The support ticket has been sent (from within the EMS app).

There is a problem with eset anti phishing.
It doesn't block the AMTSO phishing test site.
hxxps://www.amtso.org/check-android-phishing-page/
ESET Mobile Security (EMS) on my Samsung Galaxy Ultra 5G works as expected on the other 3 Android tests.
I only use the installed Google Chrome browser and EMS states that the phishing protection is correctly enable for Chrome.

Hello.
Has the new cleaner update been released to the public release channel?
I know that I can switch to the pre-release update channel but, for the usual reasons, I prefer to stick to the public release versions.

Hello.
Any update on when this issue is going to be sorted?

How long does the scan take for you with and without WMI & registry selected ? Scanning these newly added objects should take a few minutes, not dozens of minutes or hours.
All with the new 13.2.15.0.
Initial Scan: 1 hours 38 mins Objects Scanned: 265982.
WMI & Registry Only: 1 hours 7 minutes 34 seconds (before I stopped it!)
It's clear from these figures, and other provided by itman, that the current public release is an utter load of rubbish!
How on earth a company of ESET's reputation released this mess into the public arena is disgraceful and worthy of a detailed report.
Don't see why I should stay with ESET, when my confidence in the company has been reduced to nil.

How long does it take to scan only WMI and the registry?
Would you be willing to try the previous version to measure the time of the initial scan?WMI and registry: I will let you know.
Previous Version Initial Scan: 23 minutes 33 seconds.

Initial scan on a clean windows 10 pro 2004 took 90 minutes (Dell 15R laptop 16G Ram, i5 4th gen, 1TB SSD).

WMI and registry scans are a part of the initial scan and in-depth scan which may now take several minutes longer because of this. They are also scanned when you click "Scan your computer" (don't confuse it with the Smart scan profile). Since more objects are scanned, slightly longer scan times are expected.
If the scanner worked properly then it should indeed take a slightly longer time, but I do not think that a scan that takes 2-3 times longer as "... slightly longer ..."
Should have been sorted before 13.2.15 entered the public release phase.

If it isn't obvious that a registry scan is running which should be, scroll to the top of files being scanned window where the scan parameters are shown. You will indeed note that a registry and WMI scan has been selected by default.
itman is correct.
Since the update to 13.2.15 my "Initial Scan" and the "Scan your Computer" are taking over twice as long to complete. Also the "Objects Scanned", which should increment as files are scanned, remains on 0 (zero).
Extremely disappointed that ESET allowed something as major as this to enter the public release version.

Hello.
If you believe that you have a legitimate key then provide the Public ID for Marcos to check.
However, there are no legitimate ESET resellers in Iran so your key would almost certainly NOT be valid.

The site hxxps://www.esetshop.ir/
is registered to an individual using a Gmail address.
https://whois.domaintools.com/esetshop.ir
Yet more proof that the site is not official.
You need to provide the info Marcos requested.

No Iranian reseller listed here:

You also didn't provide the Public ID requested by Marcos.

Hello @peteyt
An excellent suggestion on something that should have been done ages ago.
