ajhmd 0
I am new to ESET and received this email yesterday evening. Is this a "normal" email? Should I click on the links? Or should I report it as phishing? I'm using my computer as I'm writing this - so obviously not stolen or lost. Here's the body of the message from that email: Hello,ESET Anti-Theft has recorded suspicious activity on your device (edited for security). Someone has logged on the device using the Phantom Account. If you don't know the location of the device, sign in to your ESET HOME account at https://anti-theft.eset.com and confirm it as Missing. ESET Anti-Theft will start monitoring the activity on the device to help you find out its position.Your ESET Team
Administrators Marcos 5,242 Posted October 26, 2022 Administrators Share Posted October 26, 2022 I assume you have marked the device as missing and somebody logged into the phantom account, didn't they?
ajhmd 0
No. In fact, I didn't do anything like that. It just came out of the blue.
ajhmd 0
Speaking of "phantom accounts". How does the phantom account function work? Could you refer me to a user manual for that function?
