Firewall rules to allow Apple Digital Photo Access Protocol from iPhone not sticking

Recommended Posts

IPv6 traffic to port 8770 causes regularly causes an alert from the ESET Endpoint Security firewall, but rules to allow this traffic don't seem to work.

The following forum topic on this same issue was archived without a resolution: https://forum.eset.com/topic/13282-allow-port-8770-via-era-on-macos/

I've tried the same approach as @OrinW did there, also without the expected results.

The issue is also covered here: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/6834103

Does anyone know a solution?

It appears that a permissive rule for system with the local port 8770 should solve it. You can also try temporarily switching the firewall to interactive mode. When you are asked about the communication, select to create a rule from the drop-down menu and allow the communication. Then you can switch to automatic mode again.
