I am asking as I believe i may have heard/read this at and earlier date but can't re-confirm. 

Is the Web & Email settings, including Protocol Filtering, Web Access Protection, Anti-Phishing and Web Control only functional with Personal Firewall turned on or can they work correctly without the Firewall turned on?

All mentioned protection features will work even without active firewall.
