  1. Hi folks, Is it just the endpoint products that have moved to v7, not the ERA console? My console is 6.5.522.0. Thanks
  2. Thanks, got them. They're specifically called "Rename Computers" and "Static Group Synchronization".
  3. Thanks for the reply. Yes, using ERA6. The task checks to see if the computer has been renamed? Just to be sure. Also, I have added several OUs in Active Directory, but the ERA structure does not reflect the changes. Is there a way to get ERA to update those as well?
  4. Hi Support, I've changed the device name (within Windows) of a PC, but several days later it's still called the old name in ERA. Is there a way to get the new name refreshed in ERA? Thanks
  5. Thanks Marcos. Can you narrow down which section of the policy that's in? I've had a hunt through, but can't spot it.
  6. Hi folks, We disable the firewall on our domain PCs. This causes ERA to flag up a warning for all our PCs which says "The feature is not monitored by Windows Security Center". Is it possible to stop ERA from checking this? It looks like all the PCs have issues, whereas they don't, and causes confusion with PCs that might have other genuine issues. Thanks
  7. We had this when updating a v5 client to v6 using the All-in-One installer - I couldn't uninstall the v5 client, so just updated it with v6. What I think happened is that the v6 client was using v5's policy, so got confused. ESET support said to (on the v6 client) go to Setup > Advanced Setup (bottom right). Then click "Default" to restore the default settings, and OK. This fixed it for me.
  8. I was told the same, and also to use Rogue Killer. Apparently ESET's client doesn't specialise in removing adware...
  9. I spoke to support again yesterday, and after a long time looking at a PC that was generating the errors it was said that Virusradar essentially showed it as being recorded as a false positive over the weekend, and this was corrected on Sunday. I don't see this item listed at all on Virusradar though, so not sure if ESET support get a more detailed version. I've not had any more virus alerts since yesterday.

  11. I spoke to ESET support, and they say it's either a new threat or a change in classification that's now flagging it up. Not a virus though, just an unwanted app.
  12. Hi All, Had many alerts from 4 clients (out of 500) this morning. Seems to be an unwanted application, rather than a virus, but I'm guessing something new in the definitions means it's finding it. Spotted someone else who had this also https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/656585/eset-on-all-clients-suddenly-finding-mindspark-today/ Just checking if anyone else has this, should we be concerned? Thanks
  13. I know I had to go through a bit of faff though to get clients to talk to both ERA and the Internet to download their updates, unless that's changed? hxxp://support.eset.com/kb3621/
  14. Hi folks, 1. How would I tell that the server is pulling down the latest virus signature database? 2. Is there a way to get an alert if the server is failing to download the latest virus signature database? Thanks
  15. Hi folks, I've had a "Failing Server Task Alert!" email, with the text "During the last 2 days at least one of the server tasks failed more than once. Please log-in to your ESET Remote Administrator for more details." The day before I tried to deploy an agent that failed, and got an email that day also. I'm guessing because this happened less than 2 days ago I've again got that warning. How can I definitely know though which server tasks have run in the last 2 days? I cannot find a view that explicitly shows me this. Thanks
  16. "Remote Administrator Components" suggests server only to me. If it were called "ESET Remote Administrator and Agent Upgrade", something that very clearly identifies what it is.
  17. Hi folks, Can anyone advise when the v5 Endpoint goes end-of-life in terms of support, or if/when it will stop receiving updates? Thanks
  18. I think the confusing thing here is that it's the same task that is used for upgrading the server. Certainly confuses me!
  19. Ah, I thought that was only to be used on the server to upgrade ERA.
  20. Hi folks, A simple question, hopefully. What's the recommended approach to updating the agent? In my case I have an installed agent of 6.3.136.0, and the latest version is 6.4.283.0. Should this be done as a server task, much like when it's installed, or a client task? Does it matter? Thanks
  21. Official word from ESET https://forum.eset.com/topic/7567-jsscrinjectb-and-htmlrefreshbc-false-positive/
