A new hotfix release 13.1.18 containing also a fix for this BSOD issue is going to be put on the pre-release update channel within 24 hours, followed with a release to the regular update channel within the next 24 hours if no issues are reported.

is that released yet or not?

It's been said that the next v13.1 hotfix version will contain a fix. It's preliminary scheduled for April 2020.

okay, thanks @Marcos for confirming, BTW, is there any workaround available as of now to use the EIS bypassing that error /BSOD? I am not able to use te a/v and my system is exposed to the risk. And any perticuler ETA about the next version? First half of April or second half?

If you're using a Win 10 Preview build, the solution is to uninstall it and use the the latest released version of Win 10 which is 1909.

why? this latest v13.1.16 of EIS is compatible with WIn10 v2004, also, I've installed this EIS v13.1.16 in other Win10 systems running on 2004 & in most of them, there is no issue at all.

  4. Hello,

I'm getting BSOD immideately after upgrading/updating to this latest v13.1.16.0 in two of my systems, one is having a 2nd Gen i5 Intel cpu & the other one have 3rd gen intel i5 cpu.

I am running Windows 10 v2004 build 19041.172, and here are the dumps links to download.

Requesting any mod/dev here to kindly download & analyze & tell me what to do, and fix this ASAP as for the BSOD, am not able to install this A/V suite in my system & my systems are exposed to risk for more than a week.

It would be great to have a detailed changelog for pre-release versions, so that people who choose the pre-release cycle, know what modules were added/changed in order to focus bug testing to those areas. For example, today I updated to 12.0.31.0 and I do not know what was added/improved.

    Version 12.0.31.0
Fixed: After upgrade, "Modules update failed: Invalid digital signature" error
Fixed: Desktop notifications are not displayed
Fixed: Minor functional and localization bugs

You don't have to report it to ESET because it was not necessarily ESET that caused the crash. It might have been another 3rd party software which attempted to inject into Chrome, causing it to crash.

It's actually a new feature in recent Chrome versions that report 3rd party applications as incompatible in the event of a crash. Future versions of Chrome will block injection completely.

    okay, TY Marcos.

Something caused Chrome to crash and since ESET was injected in it, Chrome reported it as incompatible even if ESET might not have been the culprit.

    Wired.
I've been using Chrome & ESET since the very beginning of each of these products & never seen this kind of incompatibility issue in between this, neither seen anyone to report such. Where can I report this to the ESET officials to fix this?

https://support.eset.com/kb2885/ the download for .42.0 is the "same' as the .42.1, the latter is a "repacked build" and after the 42.0 updates the detection modules, they are the same version. More explanation about repacked versions and version numbers, see https://support.eset.com/kb2256/#RepackedBuildRelease

Ohk I see, thanks. Can you explain further what's Overnight update? Got the term in the second link of the article that you gave but found nothing specifically regarding, so asking here.

You can download it from the download page. Or you can switch to pre-release updates to get it instantly without waiting until the product is updated automatically.

I've already got the update via regular channel but asking for the offline .exe installer because I am going to format my system drive in a day or two, so that's why.
& I checked the ESET website for the link but didn't find any updated link there for .42.1, only has .42.0
