This information is not yet available. However, this is already tracked as an improvement for future versions of ERA v6.

To be honest with you, I don't see why such a large number of features/information was removed from the latest version of ESET.  It's like buying a car with a new fancy GPS, but then removing the headlights allowing you to only drive during the day.

    Hello,

could you be more specific about your use-case - how should ERA fetch external IP of device behind NAT? Currently we are collecting all IP addresses that are reported on client (AGENT) machine. We have discussed as alternative providing also IP address that AGENT connection comes from when connecting to SERVER - but this is useless in case devices are behind NAT -> all devices will the same IP address.

On my ESET 4 Remote Console, I am able to see the public address of the device.  I am not sure of the method that was used for that.

The use case is for identifying machines that may have been taken away from the organization and may be in use at someone's home.  Since most home users have a NAT configuration of some sort, we would like to be able to identify the ISP and general geographic area of the device.  But again, I am going back to the point that this was a feature that has since been removed.

  3. I recently upgraded my ESET Remote Administrator server to the latest version 6.3.  However, I am unable to locate a couple of information fields that I had available to me in ESET 4 that I used frequently.  How can I view the public IP of a client if the device is behind a NAT?  In ESET 4, the public address was shown by default to me and I was able to quickly determine if the device, specifically laptops, is at my organization or is at a user's home.

My second field I can't locate is the user ID field.  Again in ESET 4, under client information, I was able to see the currently logged in user and determine quickly who was in fact using the device.  I have not been able to locate this either in the new ESET.

Can anyone share any information on this?

    Thanks!

    I simply do this:

"Installed software, Application name"    contains    "ESET Remote Administrator Agent"

    And

"Installed software, Application version" (not equal)   6.2.171.0

I just update the rule when a new agent is released, which is only every few months.

Thanks Jim, and that was the logic I started with but received no results. So I scaled back to see what the issue was and looked for just ESET that also turned up nothing. If you have upgraded to ERA 6.2 and have a minute, would you see if you are able to create a new dynamic group with the logic you have above? It seems my existing dynamic groups work properly just not new ones that I have created post upgrade.

Jim- I followed your method, but I am having an issue with the ESET Endpoint A/V being picked up with that logic as well even though the ERA Agent is up to date.

  5. I've found that editing a dynamic group resets it and you have to wait for clients to check in again before they'll appear in the dynamic group. I just updated to 6.2 and my clients are starting to populate my own Outdated Agent dynamic group, so I can confirm that it's working.

That was what it is. I was just not being patient.  However that seems rather silly of waiting for the clients to check in without a popup box or notification informing of you that it may take some time to populate.  Silly me for assuming that ERA would use the data it already had stored in the DB to create the group.

  7. I am currently running ESET ERA 6.2, but I can't seem to get the Dynamic Groups to function properly.  I have some that I made prior to 6.2 that are working properly, but I am not able to make a dynamic group function post upgrade.  I am currently attempting to identify clients that are not running the latest version of the ERA agent.  I have scaled back my conditions to only look for software installed by ESET.  I even copied and pasted and existing dynamic group settings with no luck.  I have a screenshot attached.  Am I not doing something correctly or is this broken after the upgrade?

  8. I just updated my ERA Server to 6.2.  While a lot of things were fixed, I am still disappointed with their attention to OSX devices.  The other IT teams at my organization are against deploying ESET Endpoint A/V v6 to our Macs because of pop-up notifications that seem to have to be disabled on the endpoint themselves one by one.

For example, we do not always run the latest version of OSX and ESET consistently reminds you of this with a popup.  I would like to know is it possible to disable this message like we can with the Windows policy?

Secondly when a removal drive is plugged into a Mac, ESET asks to scan the device.  This all can be disable of course by selecting "Do not ask me again", but I am simply wanting the same functionality that my Windows clients have.

Lastly, I would like to lock down the settings panel like I can with Windows clients to prevent users from clicking and adjusting settings.

  9. Hello everybody,

I am glad to confirm that we are releasing ERA 6.2 today!

Please be patient with the download links, the new files are being uploaded to the servers during the day, as it is a significant amount of data to be replaced on the download servers.

    Regards,

    T.

That is great news! As we prepare, can you please let us know what the steps are to upgrade to the latest version when it is available?  Since everyone is stating what a major upgrade this will be, are we still going to be able to upgrade it from the console using the Client Tasks? Or will we need to be on the server itself to perform this upgrade?

  10. Hello,

I have noticed that when we rename a computer on the domain, that change does not get reflected in the ERA console (at least not through several client check-ins). Is there a setting or something I am missing to get the client to send updated computer name information to ERA? I have found an article addressing it with older version but not 6.

    Thanks!

    Joe

This is one of those fine features of ERA 6.1 that makes it so nice and easy to use :)

  11. We don't give any exact date of release. If something goes wrong then people will start claiming "but you promised to release it". I can only say that we plan to release it in the first half of September.

Well considering I have purchased a large quantity of licenses of your software that I am unable to put on my endpoints because of the problems with ERA I would like more of an answer than "a few weeks" that I have been hearing for about two months now.  I think we can all agree that ERA 6.1 is not usable in its current state.   But hearing "a few weeks" encourages me to begin spending my time searching for an alternative a/v product.

  12. Hello,

I would like to know if it is possible and if so how to go about creating a custom ESET 6 a/v installer for Windows and Mac with our license key placed into some type of preference file?  Or will this automatically be pulled down from the ESET Remote Admin server provided the ERA client is already installed on the machine?

    Thanks in advance!
