  1. Yup, no AV vendor should take FP lightly. Not only a FP detection on a file but also a file which is belonged to Windows core system. Simply quarantine the file will cause the whole system of the users unable to boot properly or unusable. It was a good lesson for Panda and every AV vendor.
  2. After the Panda breach, shown here: hxxp://news.thewindowsclub.com/panda-antivirus-update-likely-brick-windows-systems-restart-74490/. I have started to appreciate ESET low FPs performance. Kudos to ESET and keep it up
  3. Does it mean there will be a module update coming soon? No not a module, this is not "fixable" in any module, it's one of those problems they can't fix and release a new module, instead it will be included as a fix in the next build release of the product. It should be stated in the change-log once the build is released. So it is a program update?
  4. Hope you are happy with them. Good luck to you.
  5. May I know do you have any other security software installed in your system? It might be preventing ESET to load properly. Kindly wait for Marcos or other moderators to solve your issue.
  6. This depends on the location at where you are connecting to the network. If you are at your own home, then you can choose Home. If you are connecting to public wi-fi at public location, you should choose Public. Another thing that you need to take note is sometimes you need to manually change this Home or Public option in case the ip addresses and subnet masks that you have added in the Zone editor are exactly identical whether you are connecting to home or public network without ESET alerting you.
  7. Hi, naren. Sua here. I have replied your post at Wilders and hope you can keep me updated. hxxp://www.wilderssecurity.com/threads/eset-fw.374146/#post-2468474 I don't know whether it works or not but pls let me know. Thank You.
  8. Hi, Lex. Are you sure you are using ESET v7? I googled image the ESS 7 GUI and there should be written ESET Smart Security 7 on top of the GUI but why does yours one don't have?
  9. I can't assure this, you may need to ask at Windows 8 forum here: hxxp://www.eightforums.com/
  10. But do you have Windows 8.1 product key?
  11. Need to wait for the moderator. I suggest a clean install of Windows 8.1 with no previous OS leftovers but I cannot guarantee it will solve your problem. Sorry.
  12. So how did you upgrade? I had my Windows 7 installed in my system before Windows 8.1. After installing Windows 8.1 with its online installer, I had a clean OS but the admin privilege issue has slowly risen up day by day after many Windows updates. I have not been able to access my Windows Metro Apps and also install some applications. Keep on getting issue with the Access is Denied.
  13. May I ask you one question? Was there any operating system installed before Windows 8 in your system?
  14. I agree with you but the staff needs to download IDM so that they can put themselves in your shoes. I would try IDM and see how it works if I have some time tomorrow. Good luck to you.
  15. Ya. I realize that ESET will forever wait for our response to its alerts until we respond to them. But I hope that future release will have some sort of flexibility like a timer. The user can choose whether to let ESET have prompt alert forever, 30 minutes or 5 minutes. If no action is taken after timeout, ESET will allow or block the program( depends on users options)
  16. After disabling it, you may have some network problem for awhile then it will back to normal. Kindly tell us whether the issue is fixed or not. TQ.
  17. please check post #3, this workaround is also reported to be not working. I think ESET Team is already aware about this issue. There is a detailed FAQ from IDM developer telling ESET is the main culprit behind downloads being stuck & data corruption, unfortunately they (IDM) can't do anything about this. Try to disable firewall, Epfw NDIS lightweight filter, and protocol filtering. In case fail again, just uninstall Epfw NDIS lightweight filter. Just my opinion, you may no need to follow. Like this one,
  18. I haven't enabled SSL scanning actually. Anyway, my overall network performance is much much better if compare with the previous one.
  19. Some problems here: Sometimes or rarely the webpage will load slow and some contents do not load properly and also connection problem (shown in pic below) Like this one,
  20. Even though firewall is disabled and I would still be able to enjoy connection view, how nice it is!
  21. Erm.... It seems okay.... I would need more time to inspect the network performance. However, may I know does disabling firewall will affect IDS? They are independent right?
  22. I am trying EAV and so far my network performance remains unaffected.
