  1. Hi,

After seen Vulnerability & Patch Management released in latest version, im trying to figure what ESET Protect on Prem version do i have and if my license support it because im interesting in this feature.

Old naming of license type that i have is ESET Endpoint Protection Advanced (im not sure what that naming correspond to current licensing model).

What you need to check this, Public ID?

    Best regards,

    Dusan

As for cloud or on-premise version of the ESET PROTECT console, it is up to you to decide which one you use. However, only ESET PROTECT Cloud is being actively developed and ESET PROTECT on-prem is being maintained for compatibility with new ESET security product versions, system updates, etc.

Help me figure this out. Im using ESET Endpoint Security on clients side. And using ESET Protect install locally on server. Is my license eligible using this with ESET Protect on prem or not?

New license naming and type of license confuses me so im not sure about this.

    My License ID: ‎33B-4FF-BT9.

  3. Hi,

Before i updated Eset Endpoint Security from Eset Protect, i checked the changelog.

I have a question about Vulnerability & Patch Management, how do enable and how does it work?

And also I checked the changelog that you (Marcos) posted here and they are different in a few points. This for which im asking is also missing, so im not sure if it was released.

  4. I had same problem. Same error after upgrade. Tried to restart services but that didn't help me.

At the end i restore earlier backup to version 9.0. I just now looked here and found that few more people had similar problem.

As @labynko said, maybe i should wait a little longer after restarting Tomcat and EraServerSvc services. But i will wait more after i try to upgrade again.

Do you have a scan task scheduled locally or via a policy? What is the version of the Configuration Engine module on the client and on the ESET PROTECT server?

Scan task scheduled is locally on that pc.

Configuration Engine module on the client: 2011.5

Configuration Engine module on the ESET PROTECT server: 2011.5

  6. After upgrading ESET Endpoint Security on some pc's to version 9.1.2051.0, i have strange behavior on one of them.

One pc shutdown every night, so i checked event log and found problem. But i cant find reason for this. I checked scheduler and tasks on Eset Protect but i didn't find anything. Event log is below, and this happening every day.

The process C:\Program Files\ESET\ESET Endpoint Antivirus\ekrn.exe (PC) has initiated the power off of computer PC on behalf of user NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM for the following reason: Other (Planned)
     Reason Code: 0x80000000
     Shutdown Type: power off

  7. Hi. After upgrading Eset Protect to version 8.1.2209.0, also i did notification to update ESET Management Agent to version 8.1.1223.0.

And i create task for 61 pc on Eset Protect but i have one failed task on Windows Server 2008. When i try to install manually i got error which u can see in attachment.

Need to mention that im using Administrator account when i tried to install agent manually. And i tried with uninstalling agent from that server and installing from scratch and same error.

  8. Ok, i tried but still the same problem. But i tried for a hour every option, to enable/disable to idenrify exact problem.

So with disabled Protocol filtering option, which is cause of the problem i can access web site only like that.

But reading you post i tried to isolate problem even more further. When i leave Protocol filtering enabled, and disable only HTTP Scanner setup, i can access web site. So this function denying access to web site, but im not sure what can i try to exlude or avoid this option.

Just to mention that i tried only to disable HTTPS Scanner setup and leave HTTP Scanner setup enabled but it did not work.

I attach picture to see what option i need to disable to access web site, even when i leave protocol filtering enabled.

Also, i checked web site and its HTTPS protocol, even on 2FA page, so im sure what this option had to to with it.

A lot of web sites use Google Authenticator: https://www.techrepublic.com/blog/google-in-the-enterprise/use-google-authenticator-to-securely-login-to-non-google-sites/ . This is the first instance in the forum I know of where a user has an issue with it using Eset.

I would contact cex.io tech support and discuss the issues you are having in regards to Eset use and their use of Google Authenticator. Hopefully, they can shed some light on where the problem is.

Ok thank you very much for help.
