Lol. So only Eset is getting right. All of these other companies are wrong? If they are wrong then why does Bitdefender and Kaspersky have a higher detection rating then Eset? Stop shooting down the idea of a simple browser plugin. Remove parental controls from smart security since most are built into Windows. Along with K-9 web patrol or Open DNS. Parental controls are no longer needed in a security suite. Suites are actually a thing of the past. All you need is a good av now a days. Norton is actually streamlining all their products into one. A site advisor is still very much a security feature. Especially when it comes to newbies.
So basically Eset does not want the extra work load it takes into managing a site advisor. Ok then hire more people. As I have previously said it's not rocket science. Heck teens are designing phone apps right from their laptops. All I keep hearing is why Eset refuses to add such a feature. A more reasonable reply would be to say "We will look into it. Thanks for sharing".
Eset is a great antivirus. I only have 3 top choices and I have tried everything out there. Eset, Avast and Webroot are my top choices cause they are bloat free and keep things simple. Plus they are all extremely light on your system.
Other companies has 3 versions (Antivirus security solution, Internet Security solution, Premium/Total security solution). Eset has 2 versions (Antivirus (Nod32) and Internet Security (Smart Security)). If Eset will add some additional features like Safe Search and others, Eset Smart Security will be crowded.
New features like toolbar, password manager, start-up manager, etc. would be suitable for a version called ''Titan'' or ''Gold'', hope that Eset will create such version.
Eset Smart Security can have little more new features but features that does not complicate program.

@Labview707 it is not a good idea to remove parental control. This feature is useful.

Eset decide about new version. I support idea of an aditional version "Titan" or "Gold" with some premium features(ex: Password Manager) but not a lot that can create confusion or make program hard to use.

At Eset Smart Security In section Schedule should be added possibility to schedule scan at each 10, 15, 30 start of computer or define a scan data and execute scan with first start of computer (ex: 05.04.14 full system scan at first computer start).

Advanced System Care..product by IOBit. I hope you like it. Personally I will never install an IOBit product in my PC ever.
I'm not sure but that name rang me a bell and there's a good chance we detect it as PUA
Iobit should not be detected as PUA, they have in some installation packs toolbars, toolbars are user dependent, and user usually do not install them on computer.

Eset has 2 versions (Smart Security and NOD32), it is not good to make Eset Smart Security an all in one security solution (360) but Eset can launch 3rd version that represent Premium Security.

That was just an idea (not a suggestion) that I see as a better way than ESET end up adding c rap to ESS. As I like ESS I want to continue to use it without extras being added. But I rather see ESET stay out of the "fluff fluff" product segment altogether of course.
Also if we had ESS and ESET 360°, this would be like Nor**n Internet Security and Nor**n 360°. - No! No! No! Never!
This cra p can stay away! This would require staff and this staff can make better things at ESET!
They have more features than the population of north america.
Most are uneeded or redundant.
Sometimes weight things down. Slow systems down & cause unexpected results.

I think that Eset need to have a ''Titan'' version that include some premium features. Eset Smart Security will not be Security 360 degrees but may be ''Titan'' version can be with more features.
Features that have been presented above are good but can be little more for Eset Smart Security. I can not say that most of features are redundant or unneeded and it is not correct to say this.
Eset Smart Security is like Internet Security solution, ''Titan'' version can be like Premium Security solution or Total Security solution.

@Arakasi, Iobit does not steal signatures from other vendors, they have a partnership with Bitdefender.
Iobit installation packs sometimes contain toolbars, etc. but does not mean that Iobit is PUA, they working at this and in future will remove additional content from installation pack.

I think that at Eset Smart Security 8 notification icon from status bar can indicate directly security status. At Eset Smart Security 7 if all working good notification is a Green Circle and if is security problem notification is a yellow or red triangle. I recommend at Eset Smart Security 8 notification icon be Green Circle if security working good and change color of circle to yellow or red if maximum protection is not ensured.(without triangles)

According to discussion, Av-Test and Av-Comparatives do not execute tests correctly and win in tests results security software that not worth?

Panda Security was reformed and increase actual technology but this dosent mean that will obtain very good results in other tests.
Hope that Eset with V8 will have a top position in next test result.

At Eset Smart Security version 5 was interesting video from YouTube ( animation trailer). At version 8 also can be added a video trailer but little different from the version 5.

What is your opinion about adding On-Demand-Scan by Priority (Low- slower scan and little system resources, Medium- little fast scan and more system resources, High- fast scan and a lot of resources)?

I'm not aware of any issues with cleaning registry changes, please be more concrete.Eset has problems with remains after remove malware file (Malware removed, but some executable files, MBR and registry changes (e.g loading points, etc.) remaining).[/size]
As for fixing MBR, this cannot be accomplished due to legal issues and Microsoft tools have to be used. In some cases it's possible to restore MBR in case malware created a backup.
I'm not aware of any issues related to cleaning ransomware. This was improved in v7. Again, be more concrete and we can look into it then.Eset to remove a sophisticated ransomware or a worm it is require to run Rescue Disc or Safe Mode, this thing also decrease test result grade.
Please be more concrete. Maybe the malware was detected in memory but after the next update a signature was added and ESET was able to locate it on the disk and clean it. Another possibility is that the malware didn't exist in the file system whatsoever. Unfortunately, too little information was given.If a computer is already infected and install Eset, cleaning capacity also is not very good.
I observe some time ago that in User file was a dangerous Trojan but Eset displays some notifications that threat was clean but the dangerous file remains there. In this case are necessary improvements and On Demand Scan capacity of cleaning.

If you want more security use another browser without plug-ins and add-on.
And use the windows virtual keyboard.

ESET does already use URL and IP blocking in the products. Works very well.
Adwares are detected, but what you describe in terms of homepage changes etc.. sounds more like a work done by our PUA friends so it can also be good to enable detections of Potentially Unwanted and Unsafe applications in the product.(user optional)
We already have AMS (Advanced Memory Scanner) that take care of the memory so it automatically scans everything you execute.

No not really, besides there is nothing called a quick scan in ESET products. But we have a Smart Scan...
Smart scan: This is the default scanning profile. The Smart scan profile uses Smart Optimization technology, which excludes files that were found to be clean in a previous scan and have not been modified since that scan. This allows for lower scan times with a minimal impact to system security.And Yes the very first scan usually takes longer to finish but the following scans will be quicker.
"camfeting" well malware is malware so whether the aim is to watch you through the webcam, or steal money from you it doesn't really matter. And people can easily take care of their webcams on their own.

ESET ta think going by a very good way but lacking some things that could make it better if adicionassem the following options:Improve Firewall is very important to have a good firewall and I think that ESET is not yet at the level of the other antivirus much you can improve, such as adding IP blacklisting. what is this? Also Eset Firewall does not fully protect protocol IPv 6.
Network Monitor can also detect if there are connected devices on home network, to prevent unauthorized connection to the home network.
VPN (Virtual Private Network) can be added for secure network connection.

- Firewall: So if ESET would be able to add this "type of filtering" (without root) to EMS it would be (also) nice.
- Web protection and Anti-phising: Yes, that are some different things, but Anti-Phising is already included (in the Premium version), but unfortunately Web protection isn't included yet.
- Privacy Advisor: @Octavian: Do I assume correctly that you mean the "Security Audit"? I thought with "Privacy Advisor" they meant something that advises you, e.g. in your online practices. That's why I linked to ESET CyberSecurity Training in the first post, because their you can get such an advice.

Upgrading doesn't necessary mean its security is getting better.
What do you think needs to be reinforced by this upgrade you are speaking of for security purposes?
I was referred to the actual security features or little new features and maybe some Graphical improvements.

- Firewall - requires root - OK, but what's with the 3 others that (purported) have this feature? G Data MobileSecurity, Kaspersky Mobile Security and 360 Mobilesafe. On their official websites I found nothing like a real firewall. So maybe the Wikipedia article is really wrong in this cases.
- Backup - It's necessary in general - yes, but IMO ESET don't needs it. As you say it's expensive and ESET should be focused on protection against maleware.
And about the mistakes in Wikipedia: If something have the time it would be nice if he could improve the article or at least write it on the talk page (maybe link to this topic). So if we found out that is something wrong on the Wikipedia article (at least with ESET's software) then you are free to edit the article.

In general Android OS has restrictions and do not allow possibility to run classic firewall.
Firewall that have some companies, they named firewall but this can be type of filtering or monitoring.
Web Protection and Anti-phishing are two different things. Web Protection protects from all kind of threats that can be present on different sites, Anti-phishing protects against fraud sites that contains false offer, etc.
Privacy Advisor, Eset Mobile Security use information provided by Android about applications, only sort applications after different criteria. Eset Mobile Security need to develop something own for privacy advice.
Parental Control is designed for filter internet content after defined criteria: Ex weapons, social networking, strong language, etc. Parental control is very useful and can be included in Eset Mobile Security.

Eset Nod32 antivirus for linux was not upgraded for a long time, it is necessary to upgrade (v5 launch) and to add firewall, antispam etc. for better protection.
One can't compare this product to ESET Smart Security, or ESET Cyber Security Pro for OS X wich are "security suites" having additional features like Firewalls.
ESET NOD32 Antivirus 4 for Linux is not a "suite" product, the equivalent for the Windows platform is ESET NOD32 Antivirus wich also does not have a firewall, antispam etc...customers may chose to use the Win OS firewall with it or some other 3'rd party firewall. Same with ESET Cyber Security.

Eset Smart Security 8 beta requires almost every time to reboot system for clean a threat that was detected. This thing is not very nice and comfortable for work, need to improve or change this.
