  1. Till few days ago I was only using IPv4 and Rogers modem was bridging my Asus routers that were set up in AiMesh system.

Today I have enabled IPv6 In my router and it worked good, but within an hour my connection was getting slower.

To troubleshoot I connected my cable directly to my modem and once again it was working nice, but started to act up shortly after, some sites would open OK and some would take noticeably longer.

After disabling HTTP/3 things where once again good and has been good since.

I had no idea till recently when I was faced with needing to change from IPv4 to IPv6 that with ESET HTTP/3 enabled there is that much connection issues and ESET is aware of that and can't find work around it😐

  2. Now since you've mentioned, it does rig the bell.

Long ago when Outpost (Agnitum) was still around I think I did that exactly. I run system in learning mode then switched to Interactive to deal only with new occasional popups.

When I first got ESET I would do the same, but I really want it to have less and less of my input and I only did that on clean, just installed system I would run in learning mode, get the base rules, install Firefox  let it run on learning for a while longer then switch to Auto and leave it at that, so far has been OK.

    Thank-you

  3. I think I went through most of the help pages where it describes firewall rules with different scenarios and I think I have better understanding as far is a real purpose of Learning and Automatic modes, when to use it and and how rules are been applied.

Although,  If anyone like to share their expertise I would still appreciate it🙂

    Thanks guys.

  4. I know I asked before, but tbh. really didn't get concrete answer and I would like to get some clarity.

Year or so ago, Initially when I installed Windows 10  I would leave most setting of  ESS at defaults with exception of few small adjustments, but I would let firewall to be on learning mode for a day till system and few small apps e.g Firefox  to create rules and after I would switch back to Automatic mode...Is that a good enough way?

Now! reason I'm asking is because the other day I have reinstalled windows and afterwords I installed ESS and left the firewall to stay at defaults on Automatic mode. I know thins that without letting Firewall run in learning mode, Firefox would  run a slightly slower e.g. opening and switching web pages, not a huge difference, but I could tell slight difference.

Is leaving Firefox in Learning mode for say...an hour just to open and close few times so it creates the rules  then switch it back to Automatic would be ideal way of doing it, safe?

    Thanks guys.

Try to contact support through ESET Gui or through your registered email address for the license , and explain to tech support that the marketing messages isn't going even after disabling , they should fix it through an update or from their side , probably that is a bug

So far has been quiet that makes me happy, but if it does comeback and I really hope it doesn't,  I might just do that.

    Thanks

  6. It's been a few days with no nags which is like a breath of fresh air.

On a surface, this might seem petty, but it's the way customer(s) view and/or feel when their wish is being ignored and overwritten by companies/vendors priority and need to impose.
Thus far, ESET has been exceptional in that regard, lest hope they continue to be that way.

    Thank you

  7. This is not cool🤨 2 days later and again.

I have disabled "Display marketing messages" yet, still persist.  I asked already:

is the setting to turn that and other similar offers off for good.

Seems that by default the switch is in the middle position and greyed out with ? I have turn the switch off 2 days ago,  yet today I still get this.

I'm going to ask politely again, is there something else I'm missing please and thank you.

I am a bit surprised by this message. I'm about to renew, but if ESET starts sending pop-ups, that's the end for me. I chose ESET precisely because they didn't deal with this nonsense. I'm a user sins the beginning of NOD32.

So @Marcos could you tell me something about this? Should I worry about pop-ups? I really hate these things. If it matters, i use EIS.

Several years ago avast made a big change and at the time I had # of licences of avast pro for close to 2 decades, loved it, even the blue tray icon was iconic, then they decided to change things up and I was OK with some of them, but push offers to paying users I don't know what they were thinking.

A lot of users left because of it. Avast had a good customer support, they even offered me a year of free subscription on few of my systems, but after seen where they were heading, there was no turning back.

Look at avast today, they are not doing that great a lot of users come and go, they don't stay and renew their subscriptions.

I hope ESET sticks with what works and that is clean, light weight and users choice without infliction.

Do you have marketing messages turned off in settings?

Advanced Setup/Notifications/Interactive Alerts... Under In-product messaging make sure Display is turned off.

    Yes its off😶

  10. Hi Marco,

    Here are the requested logs.

If that helps, this happens randomly, but this one happen after bringing my PC from sleep mode. Also, this time I just left my PC ON and during the time when I wasn't at my desk "Push Notification" has reached servers I guess and got fixed that way, but most  times I need to reboot my PC to get that working.

    Thank you

  11. There was a time I would not even consider altrnatives, but after 15  years I have switched from avast pro to ESS due to changes they made and the feature that was available sine avast's existence and suddenly to remove.

Thus far, ESET has served me well, but when I first heard that they were looking into removing this feature, I knew that this would trigger me to reconsider my options.

I know I'm not the only one. My nephew who I introduced to ESET when I was making the switch few years ago and whose licences are expiring in 3 months will not be renewing his subscription after seen this thread and upcoming changes.

How wide spread this will affect other users....ESET will only know😉
