  1. Planet I had noticed that, but could not work out if the Activators were 'AND' or 'OR' together eg "Interface = Wifi" *AND* "Subnet = 192.168.1.1/25" Documentation does seem a little sketchy on Zones and Activators in the User Guide Not all interfaces are available to add (for example utun0 and ppp0 can only be added if present, e.g. in a VPN)
  2. I do not see a list of interfaces like ppp0, en0, awdl0 etc, all I see are rules, zones or profiles, and the zones lists subnets (and the occasional wireless SSID) I don't see any tie in between interface and any subnet .. something that would be nice, i.e. en0:172.16.1.1/24 in the zones would have been nice
  3. I'l like something that would list the interfaces that are in a specific zone inside the firewall When an interface is detected you get asked what zone it's in, and you don't see this inside the firewall preferences
  4. I have 6.0.14.0 ... so far no obvious freezing during surfing
  5. The latest version of ESCP (6.0.14.0) is a pain to shut down, over 1 minute to power off the mac removing it and the mac shuts down in seconds ESET please fix this ASAP
  6. I have installed the latest CSP (6.0.14.0) and have issues with Airdrop on Yosemite I cannot airdrop from my Mac to my iPhone unless I disable CSP's firewall However the iPhone can see the Mac for airdrop from applications I added a rule to allow Continuity to work locally, but airdrop still seems to have issues These issues do not occur if I use apple's firewall (and have CSP uninstalled) Anyone else having issues with Airdrop ?
  7. Given how long Yosemite's been in Beta, I'm surprised ESET have not got compatible products already available I'm seeing issues with Airdrop from an iPhone, no doubt there will be others I'm not wanting to remove ESET, but I suspect I may have to [update] I've had to de-install as the moment I went into Logs, the Mac slowed to a crawl I'll now wait until ESET release a Yosemite certified product
  8. Same here, latest ESET Cyber Security Pro (6.0.13.0) causes random freezing in browsers I suppose it's better than the crashes the previous versions did, but it's massively inconvenient
  9. Still getting the error here on 10.9.4, The only crashes I have are with ESET_PROXY
  10. Hello, Don't say bye bye yet: https://forum.eset.com/topic/2102-process-crash/?p=14492 It's over a month since that was posted Still no official fix This just shows the Mac version is the poor cousin of the PC version, not only does it lack functionality in the PC version, the support is a lot slower Perhaps it's time for me to say Bye bye too to ESET (both on my PC's and Mac)
  11. Like you, I have only experienced the issue with Safari. I do hope ESET fixes this issue soon I have found I get more crashes when the 'Scanning' processes are active (either at startup, or during a scheduled scan)
  12. I did an in-place upgrade from 5 to 6, and found my pre-defined rules were not always working In the end I had to perform an uninstall, and track down the remaining ESET files the uninstall did not remove before doing a clean new install Now the rules are working I would advise you export your configuration, and then uninstall the current version, reboot and reinstall you may want to test before importing your configuration (or just start again)
  13. 1. ESET Cyber Security Pro 5.0.115.0 2. OSX 10.9 (Mavericks) fully patched on a MacBook Pro 15" (late 2013) 3. I had issues connecting to AppStore and, and it wouldn't update. This was a one-off and seems to be OK now With regard to Steam Client (and similarly some steam apps) I allowed /Applications/Steam.app to have UDP ports IN, as suggested in the thread above, then noticed that the game overlay was also generating the no usable rule message in the firewall logs, as a result I allowed /Applications/Steam.app/Contents/MacOS/osx32/gameoverlayui to have UDP ports IN and the overlays started to work It seems allowing the higher App does not always allow some sub-components of it to have access As per my original post, ESET Smart Security when set to Auto has no issues with Steam (or steam games), and does not require firewall rules.
  14. I have tried the above, I've even allowed ports in both directions ... still does not work I've even added the ports in https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=8571-GLVN-8711 and the ESET firewall still blocks steam Disabling network filtering enables steam to work Update: Enabling entire UDP range as advised by GEOSOFT shows some other UDP ports not listed on Steam's website being used, it's these that cause specific rules to be blocked I'd prefer that CSP's firewall actually honour the AUTO function as ESS does. Update 2: It seems there are lots of sub-components of Steam.app that generate the no usable rule found message, which one would assume specifying the higher level steam.app would handle, alas they seem to need their own rules, otherwise bits (like the game overlay) seem not to work.
  15. It's even worse than blocking Steam .... I just tried to purchase an app in the App Store, and could not sign in Disabling ESET Network Traffic Filtering enabled me to sign in and download the app
  16. I could add rules, but that'd be messy (given the games I have), but then you have to ask what the filtering mode "Auto with exceptions" is doing, it certainly isn't "Auto" like it was with ESET Smart Security Lets hope ESET Fix this issue quickly
  17. Having just got a new Mac, I thought I'd install steam, and run some Mac compatible games I have installed ESET Cyber Security Pro, and the firewall in it seems to block Steam (even though in Auto mode) Disabling ESET's traffic filtering lets Steam connect and the games run Obviously the "Auto with Exceptions" filtering mode is not working correctly. I don't want to have to add rules for steam or the apps, as this is both messy and time consuming (and something I didn't have o do on ESET Smart Security for Windows)
  18. Admuncher has issues with IE 11, try using IE 10 The issue between Admuncher and SmartSecurity is random. Most websites appear OK, however sometimes a webpage will not load. Disabling of HTTP Checking enables the page to load every time. Recently I had the issue with www.macrumors.com , www.tripadvisor.co.uk .. and a few other sites The issue is mentioned on the Admuncher forums hxxp://forum.admuncher.com/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=18191 (on page 3 of the thread)
