Well, unfortunately, Marcos, I don't know that I'd be able to... excuse the word play here... "help you to help me" in this case. I sent Moderator Peter Randziak a copy of my Sysinspector.log and my eSET settings on .xml file, he imported them on a test machine and told me that everything worked flawlessly. I wish I could send you something promising, but it seems that, for lack of a better term, one moment it didn't work, and the next moment, it did. I know the problem first arose on a routine automatic update some time on October 7th. I noticed the pop up said that the automaticc update failed, and tried to do it manually and it still failed. I came here to ask about it, and the rest is in my posting history. That's all I can offer

!!!!! I'd tried everything recommended and it didn't work. Clear update cache was grayed out. I figured I had nothing to lose, so I tried Near-Far's trick of rebooting. Still didn't work. Then while looking for an update log I noticed this time that I would be able to clear the update cache. I did so... and the signature database updated. After an entire week of endless popups, "Dammit I said your computer is ***NOT*** safe!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" finally some peace and quiet. A thousand-thousand thank yous.

I've had eSET for at least two years, so I doubt Arakasi's suggestion is relevant, unless my computer has been infected with something for over two years, and only now, since I first posted, has the virus signature database stopped updating. I sent a settings export and sysinspector log to moderator Peter Randziak (sp?) via private message. I'm very nervous about having sent the log because you're forced to leave the name as the program saves it, which gives whoever views the log, the 'name' of your computer. I'd thought we were supposed to never reveal this? Anyway, I'm hoping it will gives him some insight on what I might need to do. My eSET still won't update its signature database and the "Your computer is *NOT* safe" popups are getting very maddening.

I don't have "another computer" to export settings to. I've tried everything else in this thread and in the following thread: https://forum.eset.com/topic/1090-problem-updating-eset-smart-security-error-creating-file/ And nothing has worked so far. In the meantime I'm getting endless "Your computer is *NOT* safe" popups that make running other programs difficult because the popups brute-force them into being minimized. I would send you the message you asked for but the link on exported settings say I need to have another computer available, which I don't.

How do I take a screen shot of this? Print Screen didn't work, and I don't have any software to create a video. I tried doing the roll back suggested by Janus and I still get the same error message when I try to update. It's been almost 48 hours since the problem first occurred, and now I get absolutely ceaseless spam-deluge of popups, "Your computer is at risk" making doing any other activity impossible because all programs I run are brute-force minimized to make room for the endless popups. I'm using eSET Smart Security version 6.0.316.0 64-bit for Windows 7. EDIT: I found another thread devoted to this topic, and the posted screenshot by the user who started that thread, perfectly matches the error message appearing when I try to update.
