  3. So, ver. 11.1.42 is newer and no longer available? ESET must have realized it had bugs. The error I was seeing in the Windows Logs: System disappeared as soon as I uninstalled my original version of ESET Smart Security Premium. I don't recall the version number. Regards
  4. OK, this problem is fixed. I sent a message to ESET Tech Support and they sent the following instructions. I'm no longer seeing the error in my Windows Logs: System. An ESET Technical Support Representative has updated this case with the following information: Hello, Thank you for contacting ESET North America Technical Support. In order to resolve the issue you will need to uninstall and reinstall ESET in order to resolve any registry issues. For illustrated instructions to uninstall or reinstall ESET Smart Security Premium, visit: hxxp://support.eset.com/zap/kb2788 Or, follow the steps below: ========= DOWNLOAD: ========= 1. Download ESET Smart Security Premium from the link below: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ https://download.eset.com/com/eset/tools/installers/live_essp/latest/eset_smart_security_premium_live_installer.exe ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 2. When prompted to Run or Save, click ‘Save’ and save the file to your Desktop. Do not run the file until you uninstall your previous installation, explained in the next step. ========= UNINSTALL: ========= After the download completes, you must uninstall your current ESET product. Please follow the instructions from the applicable Knowledgebase article below: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Windows 10 users hxxp://support.eset.com/zap/kb5547/ Windows 8 users hxxp://support.eset.com/zap/kb3160/ Windows 7 users hxxp://support.eset.com/zap/kb6338/ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 1. From the Start menu, select ‘All Programs’ -> ‘ESET’ -> ‘ESET NOD32 Antivirus’ -> ‘Uninstall’. 2. Follow the prompts to uninstall your ESET product and restart your computer to complete uninstallation. 3. Once your computer has restarted, click ‘Start’ -> ‘My Computer’ -> ‘Local Disk(C:)’ -> ‘Program Files’ and attempt to locate an 'ESET' folder. In most circumstances, this folder should have been removed by the uninstall process but if it is still here, delete it. WARNING: Delete the ESET folder ONLY. Do not delete the 'Program Files' folder. ========= REINSTALL: ========= 1. After successfully removing your ESET product, you will need to reinstall it. Navigate to your Desktop where you saved the ESET Live Installer file (If you are using Windows 8.x, press the Windows key + F to search and then type "eset" into the search bar) and double-click the file to open it. 2. Follow the steps in the installation wizard to complete your installation. 3. In the Product Activation window, type your License Key (or Activation Key) into the field and click 'Activate'. Make sure you enter the License Key exactly as it appears and include the hyphens. If you copy/paste be sure you don't accidentally select additional space around the text. Your license information is included below for your convenience:
  5. I just did an uninstall of ESET Smart Security Premium on a Win 7 x64 system using the Windows uninstaller from Programs & Features and had the same issue. The desktop was completely void of anything to include the start button and menu bar. So, I think this is a valid issue. I was able to shutdown the system using the power button. When the system restarted, it was normal.
  6. A Google search for this error seems to indicate that this error is associated with Internet Security/Anti-virus software. Therefore, I getting an impression that this error is related to the ESET Smart Security Premium software program.
  7. I'm getting a new error in my Windows Logs after upgrading to ESET Smart Security Premium. The error occurs during start up. The error is Event 7006 Service Control Manager. The general description is: The ScRegSetValueExW call failed for FailureActions with the following error: Access is denied. Is this a known condition for ESET Smart Security Premium? Regards
  8. Thanks Marcos. I hope that soon is about a month. I have IE11 and Google Chrome installed, but because IE11 is becoming obsolete and Google Chrome loads my PC with hundreds of GBs of junk-ware, those browsers don't perform as well as Firefox. Although the Password Manager seems to work with Google Chrome and IE11, it appears to disable the password features of Firefox, so it's a PITA to manually login to all the sites I visit. Is it possible to to configure the Password Manager so that it doesn't disable the password features of Firefox? Regards
  9. I just upgraded to ESET Smart Security Premium primarily for the Password Manager and was very disappointed to discover that apparently the Password Manager doesn't work with the Firefox 64-bit browser. What's up with that? Is this going to be fixed anytime soon? Regards
  10. I've upgraded my virtual Windows 7 XP Mode machine from ESET SS 8 to ESET SS 10.1.219.0 32-bit. It appears that the Personal firewall is non-functional on the virtual machine. Is there a fix for that? Regards
  11. Hi, I noticed when I started my desktop running Win 7 Pro x64 with ESET Smart Security 10.1.219.0 that the Banking & Payment protection was non-functional. I attempted to restore the program feature, but I haven't been successful. I changed the protected websites from Secured browser to Normal browser and back again, rebooted, but the program feature remained non-functional. It was functional when I previously shutdown, so I don't know what caused the change. Attached below are a few screen shots that show what I see. How do I restore the Banking & Payment protection security tool to functional status? Thank you for the assistance. Regards
  12. Since I completed a clean install of the ESET SS 10.1.219.0 with default configuration for the most part, I haven't had issues logging on to that DoD website. I'm not using BPP to log onto that site either. My ESET install has never used BPP for those types of websites.
  13. I've also noticed that IE11 will freeze up after several hours of use and the only solution is to use Task Manager to close the browser window. Otherwise, it doesn't respond to cursor position or mouse clicks. I don't know if that's related to my ESET SS 10. Presently, I've got ESET SS 10.1.219.0 configured to default settings for the most part.
  14. I just noticed a thin light green line or box around my browser (IE11) window. I hadn't notice that before. What is it? Can it be turned off? Does it indication a problem? Other than the light green line, everything appears nominal. Thanks for the assistance. Regards
  15. No, I'm not using the BPP to connect to the DoD website. When the BPP was first available, it only popped up when I connected to my bank's website. Then, after what must have been an update, it started popping up when I was paying for an eBay purchase with PayPal. It seemed to have problems with the eBay/PayPal operation, because it would open about three different windows before it would work without errors. After what must have been another update, it seems to be better behaved now when it pops up in conjunction with eBay and PayPal.
  16. I don't trust Google either, but FB is worst. I performed the clean re-install of ESET SS 10.1.219.0. When attempting to log in to that website described above I was successful after only one failed attempt. That's an improvement. The failed attempt indicated that the connection problem was due to firewall settings. I assume those firewall settings are related to the ESET SS program. Does anyone know how to inspect those firewall settings and make changes if they aren't set correctly? Is there a log file that would indicate the problems? I suspect there's a setup configuration in ESET SS that needs to be changed.
  17. Thanks guys. I'll try a clean install of the latest version and if that doesn't resolve my connection issues, I'll try a clean install of a previous version and compare to determine if my connection issue are linked with the ESET SS program. When I was looking at the threads in this forum, I got the impression that others were having similar issues with the newly released program update. Thanks again for the info. Regards
  18. I'm considering a clean install of the ESET program. Is there a link to download the latest version? Also, is there a utility to completely remove all traces of the ESET program before the clean re-install?
  19. I'm having the issues with both IE11 and Google Chrome Version 60.0.3112.90 and the previous version 59.0.3071.115 on Win 7 Pro 64-bit.
  20. Those aren't the actual web addresses I'm having issues with connection. I can connect to those without issues. I'm having issues when I attempt to log on to the web address depicted in the attached screen shot. I've been able to log on after about six or seven repeated attempts. The failed attempts result in the various errors depicted in my previous post.
  21. Attached are screen shots of the connection issues. I started having these issues after I updated the ESET program.
