The quickest and 100% working solution is to remove ESET in safe mode using the Uninstall tool and then installing it from scratch. Even if gui doesn't seem to react, the product continues to protect you from malware and update of the Configuration Engine module should fix it automatically when released.
False, well, after a while.
I tried every which way possible of removing NOD32 and reinstalled. True, the registry error disappears after a clean install but comes back after a complete scan has been done. I've even tried install without Live grid and the mistake is the same.
I have been a long time user and I have your logo on my site (no charge).
For a while, Issues come one after another. PLEASE get your act together.

OK,
The fix is the same as the last version of NOD32 except you delete cert8.db and cert9.db. So far, no issues.
Guys (ESET) this is a known bug. I have been a member for many years and this issue with Firefox is not a first. Can you find a fix?
Thanks.

I have clients with and without uBlock Origin with this issue. My fix above is the correct solution. See my post above. It should be the default by Eset. I've made my clients happy by making this change. However, I'm sure that many Eset customers who don't have an IT Admin working for them will eventually leave Eset due to the annoyance of these popups. Again, not Eset's fault, but Eset's concern. Eset should silently block and we would be done with this issue.
I'm sorry, but this isn't a fix at all. It's a problem with Eset. I had this problem with version .159.5 and Firefox. Issue went away after disabling SSL/reboot and deleting cert8.db in Mozilla folder C:\Users\%%\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\%%.
With this update, all my three machines have half the sites disbled with Firefox. I get that ''some'' people won't update their certificates, but not half.

Hi,
I just reinstalled nod 32 with version 159.9. The issue is back and this time I can't fix it. This is the same issue that I am seing with the posts about Certificate Pop-Ups.
In my case this problem is only related to Firefox. not Edge. This is a real pain. This isn't the first time it has happened. I hope a fix in the works.

Hi Marcos,
Seems to have worked. Will there be a fix? I have a few customers with NOD.
Thanks.

Please provide a couple of example of such websites. Also try the following:
- Disable SSL filtering.
- Reboot the computer.
- Without launching any application, re-enable SSL filtering.
- Launch a browser and check if the problem persists.Hi Marcos,
Followed your instructions. I still have the problem with Firefox. No problems with Edge though.
Here are some sites:
And this one I think you know.
https://forum.eset.com/forum/24-eset-nod32-antivirus/
Like I said, no issues with Edge but my main browser is Firefox 58.
Thanks.

Hi,
Here is a problem that was often seen a few years ago. I had to disable SSL because half the pages in Firefox won't load. I uninstalled NOD32 and reinstalled with a bunch of pages opened and all worked until the next day.
All pages that worked don't work anymore.
Is there a fix in the works?
For now, I left SSL scanning disabled.

V10 .1 installers already contain recent modules so it should work ok on Windows 8.1+ with 3rd party software registered as LSP.
Still had issues with V10

Currently the solution is disabling Protected service in the HIPS setup and restarting the computer.
So when will the currently go away for a fully functional install?

you did get a decent response from this site and it has worked multiple times for me as well with failed activation's.
netsh winsock reset then reboot the system.
try the activation again.
Thanks for the response tmuster2k, but netsh winsock reset is a workaround and affects network settings. Everyday users don't use windows commands to install their AV.
There needs to be a fix.

Well, I had opened a ticket and waited for a decent reply from this website and never received it.
I have been an Eset user for many years (my website even has a NOD32 logo free of charge to Eset).
I must say that I have never been so disappointed with such a poor support system. No return on open ticket. Support mentioned more than a month ago that they were aware of the issue.
If that is what customer loyalty amounts to, then yes not having an antivirus on your computer won't make much of a difference.
What a great customer relation!! (yeah, it was a sarcasm)

Yep,
Winsock reset works.
What's up ESET??

Are you able to open https://edf.eset.com/edf in a browser? A small xml should appear. Do you connect directly to the Internet or through a proxy server? Is there a firewall that might possibly block the installer from reaching ESET's servers?
Hi,
No server, no proxy. Version 9 installed flawless. Version 10, same message.
-
Well,
This is sad. No one from Eset has an idea?
-
Even if you find who to report an invalid certificate to, chances are it won't get updated. I disabled SSL scan cause it always reports unsubstantiated errors.

Marcos,
Fix, solved.
2, Temporarily disable Self-defense and restart the computer
3, Rename the files (e.g. rename the extension to .sys_)
C:\Windows\System32\drivers\eamonm.sys
C:\Program Files\ESET\ESET NOD32 Antivirus\Drivers\eamonm\eamonm.sys
4, copy the new version of the module to both folders
5, re-enable Self-defense
6, restart the computer
Finally try to reproduce the issue. We assume that the new driver should address this issue.Specs

Hello guys,
I just noticed that version 9 of NOD32 antivirus has issues with Excel 2016 365.
Excel files are slow to close.
I disabled ESET and all went well.
I don't know what causses the slow shutdown of excel. I tried to disable some scan ON features but to no avail.
Does someone know the reason and is there a fix?
Thanks.

Issue
- Undocumented Serious Error 0x101a
- Undocumented Serious Error 0x1106
If the issue is not resolved, uninstall and then reinstall your ESET product.
That's what I did.
