This still remains unfixed in 10.0.369.0
The issue was posted to centercode during v10 beta testing, heck, I even made a video to demonstrate the problem.
Why is it so difficult to position the device notification as compared to all others?

Having a username and password was only needed with the old licensing system. Now, you only need a license key for registration.
-
Just install over the top.
-
Go to Advanced Setup -> Update -> Basic and make sure "Disable display notification about successful update" is not enabled.

Eset Corp cold you update Web cam protection
I been notice there is something rare happening some times I suspect Microsoft spy user from the Web cam
I think you'll find that you have Microsoft employees hiding in your roof and/or crawl space. Look around the room for any suspicious periscopes or binoculars.

A while back as a test I created a user rule to ask for any driver loading from C:\*.*. Then I ran Process Explorer which loads its own kernel driver on the fly. I received zip alerts from Eset's HIPS. So as far as I am concerned, Eset doesn't monitor anything in regards to drivers and that includes any write activity to C:\Windows\Drivers directory.
The same holds true for versions 9 and 10 beta.

Remove the scheduled task that points to app.vbs
-
Have a look in your start menu under ESET -> ESET Smart Security for ESET Banking & Payment protection. Right click on it and select Send To -> Desktop (create shortcut)

Both lsass.exe and conhost.exe were updated via the most recent windows update, so it could take a little while until the cloud reputation score is updated.

Make a new rule with Action = Ask and Operations affecting Applications.
At the next screen select All Applications.
Next, Select the Application operations you wish to potentially block.
Next, Select Specific Applications, Click on Add and browse to your Download folder.
You should end up with a path that looks like:
C:\Users\<username>\Downloads\*.*
Click on Finish and test your rule.

Version 9.0.349 is the latest release. i.e. it is not beta
-
Try opening an elevated command prompt and enter: sc start epfwlwf
Post the error you receive if the service can't be started.

Your license is valid for any release of ESET Smart Security.
You can download version 8.0.319 from hxxp://www.eset.com/int/download/home/detail/family/5/fileflag/8.0.319.1/
What problems are you having with version 9?

Boot the PC into safe mode and you should be able to delete it.
Before you try the above, go into advanced setup -> Tools -> Log Files and click on Optimize. See if that makes any difference.

The java script in question is only triggered if Internet Explorer is detected (via the user agent) as the browser being used.
-
Run ESET Log Collector (hxxp://support.eset.com/kb3466/), then PM Marcos and attach the logs. If the logs are too large to attach, then upload them to somewhere like SendSpace and PM the download link.

Module updates have always occurred far more frequently than any module update notification. Version 9 seems no different to v8 in this regard.

On v9.0.349, my first alert is for PUA spsetup129.exe. If I click Ignore for this alert, then I receive an alert for a *.part file.
If I then just let the alert notification sit on the desktop and not select any option, the download completes. After that I just click ignore to dismiss the notification.

Where can I find this folder containing this .msi file?
You should find it in the directory "C:\ProgramData\ESET\ESET Smart Security\Installer"
-
Could you confirm or deny that temporarily disabling real-time protection before you start the download helps?
Disabling real-time protection prior to the download results in a successful download.
Was a Firefox temporary file (*.part) detected prior to detection by web access protection?Yes

Edit: The post I responded to has been deleted.
is there a way to know if local.db is corrupted
in ESET Internet Security & ESET Smart Security Premium

You have only one local.db file as "C:\ProgramData" and "C:\Users\All Users" refer to the same location.
