Every time I start my computer, firewall is not turned on

Recommended Posts

I am a user from China. I am currently using machine translation.

I have encountered a problem. Every time I start my computer, ESET will report an error. The specific error is that the firewall is not turned on.

But it will start successfully after a while. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling multiple times but it didn't work. Please solve it. Thank you.

Please carry on as follows:

  1. Enable advanced logging under Help and support -> Technical support
  2. Reboot the machine to reproduce the issue after a boot
  3. Stop logging
  4. Collect logs with ESET Log Collector and upload the generated archive here (only the ESET staff can access attachments). If the archive is too big to upload here, upload it to a file sharing service and drop me a private message with a download link.

I didn't find any issues in the log. The firewall seems to have started alright when the logs were collected. Could you post a screenshot of where you see the firewall disabled after a reboot?

There is a possibility that Eset firewall is not being registered properly in Windows Security Center at system startup time.

After system startup w/Eset firewall firewall in not started status, perform the following;

1. Open Windows Security Center.

2. Open Virus & threat protection. The screen show should be formatted as follows;

3. Mouse click on "Manage providers." The screen shown should be formatted at follows;

我在日志中没有发现任何问题。收集日志时,防火墙似乎已正常启动。您能否发布一张屏幕截图,显示重启后防火墙被禁用的位置?

This will be displayed every time you turn on the computer, but everything will be back to normal after a while.

Picture 1: System risk warning

Picture 2 The firewall cannot be started

It won't be long before things get back to normal.

So the error doesn't stay and goes away after a while. That's most likely because some system network services take longer to start.

因此错误不会持续存在并在一段时间后消失。这很可能是因为某些系统网络服务需要更长的时间才能启动。

Yes, but this is annoying, is there a way to fix it?

There may be a variety of reasons, such as slow or too fragmented hard disk, many applications installed, little RAM, etc.

When your PC starts up, verify that Internet network connectivity has been established as evidenced by desktop lower toolbar network icon being displayed as shown in the below screenshot;

If the icon shows a "globe symbol," it means there is no Internet network connectivity.

当您的电脑启动时,请验证是否已建立 Internet 网络连接,如桌面下方工具栏网络图标所示,如下面的屏幕截图所示;

如果图标显示“地球符号”,则表示没有 Internet 网络连接。

I used a network proxy for ESET. Although I set the proxy software to start at boot, the proxy software cannot start earlier than ESET. I will turn off the ESET proxy settings and try again. But what I want to say is that the previous version will not report an error even with this setting.
