Furcenzo 0
Hey! It has been multiple times that I made a task via ESET Protect console to upgrade ESET products and on some servers the ESET Server Security upgrade failed and left installation directory with some files but no program installed. So far I have just chosen different directory (because it won't let me install the product to the original one) and installed the product manually but I would like to resolve this issue. Any ideas? Thanks!
Administrators Solution Marcos 5,160 Posted Monday at 12:13 PM Administrators Solution Share Posted Monday at 12:13 PM Please use the auto-update policy to keep the ESET product updated or run a "Check for product update" task: We do not recommend sending a Software install clients to update already installed ESET products. Furcenzo 0
Does auto-update policy automaticaly reboot the host if necessary? Isnt this option enabled by default? I am using update feature in ESET Protect dashboard.
Administrators Marcos 5,160 Posted Monday at 02:22 PM Administrators Share Posted Monday at 02:22 PM With the auto-update policy differential updates are applied after the next computer restart whereas sending a software install task uninstalls the current version, installs a new one and wait for a computer restart to complete installation. Furcenzo 0
I see. Thank you for the explenation. So I am going to leave the updates on the auto and wont touch dashboard task until necessary. Best regards!
