Active Directory synchronization on Ubuntu 22.04 LTS doesn't work

Recommended Posts

Hello!

I am trying to migrate ESET Protect ON-PREM server to Ubuntu 22.04.4 LTS, because of CentOS EOL.

I successfully installed ESET Protect server and web, but there is problem with Active Directory synchronization.

Ubuntu 22.04.4 LTS uses OpenLDAP ldapsearch version 2.5.17, but previous ESET PROTECT Virtual Appliance with CentOS used version 2.4.

In version 2.5, they removed -h parameter:

Quote

-h ldaphost
Specify an alternate host on which the ldap server is running. Deprecated in favor of -H.

Because of this, AD sync fails (using LDAP), and gives out this error:

image.thumb.png.63e470755a67488fc4bd3b4ae609c928.png

Sync without LDAP works, but doesn't give out computer description etc.

Would this be fixed, or this Ubuntu version with this OpenLDAP version is not supported?

I am using:

ESET PROTECT on-prem (Server), Version 11.0 (11.0.199.0)

ESET PROTECT on-prem (Web Console), Version 11.0 (11.0.193.0)
