Hello , just some thoughts from me :-))
Don't know how familiar you are with HIPS, (host intrusion prevention system)?
but last time I tried Eset's HIPS system (just out of curiosity) in learning mode for 14 days. But still after 14 days, I were bombarded with a storm of notifications. It went on for a couple of days, and in the end, I lay down flat on the floor, totally demoralized. Eset's HIPS system is for me only done to strengthen its self defense. I have also created my own rules, but I have to say , for a not so IT savvy, it can be a very steep learning curve. If I may come with a suggestion, and I know that this is probably not what you want to hear. Then I think that Eset's Hips is probably best left as it is in default mode. If you really want to strengthen your system, then focus more on image backup. I think your time will be better spent on this area.

Hey mhl6493
My first flirt with Eset was from about 2 years ago.It was in my/ours gamer group, that I first saw it. We did a trial period, to see if it could handle, at times our tough environment, I mean in terms of software,.... of course. Our criteria was, that is should have a low rate of false positives, and at the same time high rate of detection. Something that is not so easy to achieve. Our experience at that time, with many product was, that if a product had an aggressive approach, in terms of advanced heuristic, then it has a higher tendency to give false positives. We found Eset to excel in this area, and had a fine balance between false positives and protection. To cover us in all fronts, we installed image software on our machines. Why, because no software can protect 100 procent, and we will rather use the time playing together than restoring software from scratch. The second goal was to find an AV software which were light on the system. When we mean light, then we do not mean the amount of ram it will use, but how well the overall system drag/ slowdown is. For benchmark a system we used 3DMark, and again our choice fell on Eset.
Regarding support, then I can only say, that my local vendor here in Denmark has been great, for those questions I have had. And the time period before a feedback from support, has typically been 12 hours, in most cases. Never had any major problems that I/we could not handle, but then again, in my Gamer environment we have many self-taught " Nerds". There is always one around which have an idea.(not always a good one). Backup your system, then go for a trial, and see if you like the way Eset works on your system.
Regards, Janus :-)) , oh have a nice day

Hello reevesloh (nice to see you here )
Just a thought, but, did you accidentally, under " User Interface" in the advanced setup tree, deselected the check box " Display notifications on desktop" by accident?

Hey...
Yontoo is a most annoying adware which most often come along in a pack with other software, like other toolbars and codecs and registry cleaners. Why it was not detected is not for me to answer, but the Yontoo file that I checked from my post above, where only marked as adware, from one Vendor out of 45. So it seems as a newly modified file. That could be one explanation that it went under the radar!
Have a nice day, regards Janus

Hello,
Mrzocor, I have just downloaded Yontoo toolbar, with potentially unwanted, unsafe and suspicious applications enabled, and Eset did not detected Yontoo toolbar in one of the above categories. Data on file in question: SHA1: 4263e2937631e2e59c649241ea9d014a70d2fbe7
MD5: 18e6e39a16bac1ccfe18cc3bd680cc63 .
Anyway, I didn't have any issues uninstalling Yontoo, maybe just lucky. But, have you been able to uninstall Yontoo toolbar without issues? If not, then take use of Eset Customer Care, they will help you through if needed. You can use the link from my post above.

Hello Mrzocor, some suggestions
Just outta curiosity, do you have detection of potentially unwanted applications enabled?, if so it should have warned you then. Anyway, see this article: Yontoo has been detected by ESET, what should I do? If that does not help, then I would contact eset support for help to remove yontoo, Contact Customer Care. Just in case, if you should have any need for it, then here is a link to :How do I configure my Windows ESET product to detect unsafe and suspicious applications? (6.x)

Hello
As you write, the Error 2753 is related to a Windows installation failure/issues.My suggestion is maybe not the most profound, but try as per instruction from this knowledge base article to uninstall eset in safe mode by using eset uninstaller tool. Link : How do I manually uninstall my Windows ESET security product? Please notice ,that in the article, there is a link to how to restart windows 8 in safe mode, if you should need it.

Hello all good forces of this forum, ( I am not sure where to place this feedback, sorry, but here it is).
When you navigate in a thread ,or around in the different threads, then it would be nice if you easily could see who is online in the same thread as
yourself, instead of navigate to the bottom of the site. It could, maybe, look like this...or ????

Hello RDaleBarrow
Zip files are (archives) not scanned by real-time file protection, because files in archives will not be, or pose any risk before there are extracted, and when they are extracted the real time protection will catch them. You know, delete- block -clean or quarantine.

Hello Trooper
It is a good suggestion Trooper. Personally I think it should be, like you said, possible to manage/control , and as you also write, " to send locate and lock commands via a web browser . It could be done by using the website " myeset.com. That will mean of course , that users of Eset mobile security, will have to have access to myeset.com too. Your suggestion, for a master password, is super Trooper. :-))
