  1. flagged as "hacktool" and download is stopped, can you please verify and let me know if false positive https://github.com/vswarte/eldenring_force_dynamic_shadows https://www.nexusmods.com/eldenring/mods/3671?tab=description
  2. It was the same URL 3 times, there are 3 instances in the log with the same URL as reported here The first was 2 hours 40 minutes ago, I think same time as everyone here got it too, I disconnected when it appeared I re-enabled connection a bit after checking that thread and Marcos saying it was safe It occurred again second and third time (one minute interval between the two) 1 hour 40 minutes ago when I made that post. Log shows different IP from the first time, but also point to Akamai Other users in this thread have reported seeing it 3 times as well so perhaps me disconnecting/reconnecting caused a delay but didn't prevent the two other times from happening anyway, I don't know but it still happened one hour later
  3. Re-enabled internet and it seems it is still happening, 2 new notification pop-ups. Why is svchost still pinging this address? Concerning.
  4. Just got the same thing and was really worried. It appeared without me even opening a new page in the browser so it was very strange. Checked the eset report and saw it wasn't coming from browser but from svchost, I removed svchost's online access via tinywall but since it's a windows process I think it needs to remain online and bypasses firewall block? What is the cause of this anyway? Why is svchost pinging this sort of address anyway, instead of a Microsoft addresses? Telemetry? Is this something that just happened to all windows users or? Why is it the first time eset flags it? Can Admins confirm it's safe? Or should we remain offline until more info
  5. Thanks, but is it safe though? False detection or what triggered it?
  6. I sometimes use nsfwyoutube.com which bypasses age verification-blocked videos for youtube today it was blocked by eset, reason: JS/Packed.Agent.N virustotal says it was clean as of 11 days ago what's going on with that and is there a safe alternative? thanks
  7. Thanks. For the sake of answering my own question, I can report that whitelisting the site but using ublock, I see no such ads and in this situation it seems to be safe to use.
  8. Would using ublock + running it in sandbox be enough to negate risk of adware?
  9. Marcos I'm not a security expert, what is the risk of the adware exactly? Can you please explain in simpler terms the implication of the adware detection in the context of using ublock in combination with ESET, does using ublock make usage of the website less risky in that condition? This is what a normal user would like to know, thanks.
  10. Wondering why https://megaup.net is currently blocked Can you please tell me if it is safe to access websites flagged like "Adware.Agent" if you already use an active ublock blocking the problematic ads?
  11. It also automatically installed on Chrome for me today without my permission. To be clear, yesterday a prompt showed up asking me if I wanted to enable it or not. I did not click "enable extension" in eset and I disabled the notifications that showed up. Yet it still installed somehow today. This is unacceptable!
  12. I am encountering similar issues of conflict between Windows Defender and ESET lately, since a recent Windows update which I believe made Defender more intrusive/difficult to disable permanently... https://www.techradar.com/news/microsoft-explains-why-it-wont-let-you-disable-this-annoying-windows-10-feature-any-more Windows Security Center often showing Defender is enabled and ESET is disabled, even though ESET is properly active. VanBuran, you should run "msconfig" and see if Defender is launching at startup, then uncheck it. It seems to be the root of the problem. It seemed to have fixed the issues for me for the last few days, but today, it happened again even though Defender was disabled from startup. It's becoming very annoying, I hope the ESET will look into this.
