  1. Dear all!

I am tring to uninstall an ESET Remote Admin Agent ver 6.3. I tried nod av remover, eset uninstaller, uninstall from ERAS server, from client site no success. From client side if i start uninstalling, or installing no matter, it keeps asking for Agent_x64.msi installation package. From support.eset.com from the  6.3 section i downloaded the agent both x64 and x86 none worked getting a "not valid installation package" messeage. This is a remote pc, booting from safe mode is not an option. Edit: i also tried creating a full installation package from ERAS server, and start to install, still bumping to the agent.msi error

Please give me an idea, how to proceed.

    Thank you

  2. Dear MichalJ!

I meant in "offline all in one installer"  in the admin\installers\ create installers\All in one installer. I suppose the ERAS is connected to the licensing sercer because i can see our license at the License Management option, and the status is a green tick, and we have more units to use (139/170 (0 offline)). If this is not enough proof, please tell me, how to check if the ERAS is connected to the licensing server.
The endpoint is able to reach the licensing server (can ping it).

  3. Dear all!

My final goal is to create an offline allinone installer, but the product activation part is now working. I created a new vm, installed agent from eras done. Installing client from eras done but, activation failed. Trying to create an activation task, or a new client task, but i keep getting the error: "Failed to create task: Failed to cennect to the licensing server". Part of trace log attached. I can open in the browser the https://edf.eset.com/edf page, but i can not ping edf.eset.com. Is this a problem?

  4. Dear All!
I am deploying from ESET Remote Administrator (Server), Version 6.3.136.0 and the install task worked before fine. Now it is not activating the clients. We are overusing the license 35 we got, and at the momet 46 used.  I tried to create an activation task, getting error: Failed to create task: Failed to connect to the licensing server

I can ping from the server:

    register.eset.com 91.228.165.81

    register.eset.com 91.228.167.125

    h1-weblb01-v.eset.com 91.228.165.79

    h3-weblb01-v.eset.com 91.228.167.123

    But i cant edf.eset.com

When i tried to create activation task trace.log says:
2018-01-23 11:22:03 Error: AutomationModule [Thread 2650]: ManagementProcessor: Failed to create client task of type ProductActivation. Error: CActivationAwareClientTaskConfigValidationBase: The task configuration is not acceptable, because there is no deployment token for the chosen license [LicenseUuid=xxxxxx].

I deleted 3 licenses still the same error.
    Another log from trace.log:

2018-01-23 11:22:06 Error: LicenseModule [Thread dd0]: LicenseModuleHelper: RetrieveAndPersistDeploymentTokens: Failed to get deployment token for license [Uuid=xxxx; SeatId=xxxx; PoolId=xxxx; LicensePublicID=xxxx; ProductCode=107]. Error: CEcpCommunicator: ECPRequestMessageGetDeploymentToken request failed, error=0x2051c000.
2018-01-23 11:22:06 Error: LicenseModule [Thread dd0]: LicenseModuleHelper: SyncPools: Finished with errors [DeploymentTokenRetrievalFailuresCount=1].

Is the main error cause that our company need to buy more licenes or any other change there is technical error?

    Thank you

    • AGENT is re-installed (uninstall + install) on target machine. - In some case, maybe 3-4 but the duplicate entries are like much more than 3-4 entries.

Client task "Reset cloned Agent" task is executed on client computer - never used this

before computers were cloned? . We do not clone coputers, we reinstall them from wds, and reistall agents from erac with install task. Some exceptions but in minor numbers.

  5. Dear all!

I saw this was on topic, but i still do not understand. I attach a picture to see my problem. We have so many duplicate entrys. We are using AD for computers synchronization. Sometimes, i ran Static group synchronization to make new computers appear in erac. This task collision handling is set to move. I saw i can make a task to delete not connecting/ not managed computers, but in my case, not sure how to proceed.

If i understand correctly the "not connecting computer" means if the "last connected" column date is old and the not managed computer means the "status" column is a circle .

If i go by the task not connecting, i have to pick a date, but look the picture, last connected time (pc-001) only in 10 day 3 entrys!

My question would be how can i delete the duplicates, and why are they appearing? Because i ran the sync task? We do installs ONLY from erac, no manual installs.

Additional info: we are using eras v6 just not updated these clients yet.

  6.  they should start executing the task all at once (or be randomized within the 20 minutes, as each of the clients connects within the 20 minutes).

     - This option would be very nice, but seems the events not working like this.

How many agents are connecting to your server? - well, not sure. In ERAC i count something like @ 1000 PC-s, well the active agents  number is much less, my guess is around 300, but it's hardly a guess.

What is the replication interval of your agents? - well, sorry, but i am not sure this too. I saw the default 20 min policy, but also saw a 1 minute created policy, how can i know which is active?

Isn´t your server overloaded (not accepting connections)? - this can be, sometimes the erac is not responding, dont undestand why, problem appears on random times, at random interval, How can i test this??

Also, what is your era server / era agents versions used? - agents are MIXed, lot of them are v4 (4.2.71.2), some of them are v6 (6.4.2014.2). We are planning mass upgrade to v6 (successfully tested installing agents v6 via GPO)

ESET Remote Administrator (Server), Version 6.4.295.0

ESET Remote Administrator (Web Console), Version 6.4.266.0

I hope my answers can be understandable.

  7. I am using the stop managing task, but the finish of this task is delayed like 20 minutes, and until the task not finished, the next unistall is not starting. So to uninstall from 3 computers is like an hour..

Another question: is there a way, to notice the diffrence, between the agent versions? (we recently upgraded from v5, i know if i install a v6 agent on a machine wich is using v5 agent, there new agent will installing without problem)

  8. Dear all!

    Back story of my question:

I created an uninstall task (to uninstall agent) from erac console. It's working, cleans the agent, the task comes back with "task failed" messeage, wich is normal, we discussed that before i accepted period.

I do unintall task by mass, meaning I target 50+ computers, as i see, the uninstalling is go one bye one, which is unconvenient because if i remember correctly, to reach task failed status is something like 20 minutes.

I am using: ESET Remote Administrator (Server), Version 6.4.295.0

    Questions:

    1. Can i do something to speed up this process?

    2. What will happen if a computer offline at the unstall momment, will it try to run the uninstall task when it turned on?

    Sorry for misspelling.

  9. How you are uninstalling the agent?

If using "Software Uninstall" this task works in a way, that Agent connects MS API, and triggers silent removal of ERA agent, by OS itself (like if you have initiated the uninstall from "control panel / programs and features". If the agent is uninstalled, there is no way, that it will report "success", so the task status will switch to "failed" after some time (AFAIK, ERA server waits 24 hours to get confirmation, if it won´t come, it will time-out / fail).

So if you are expecting a "finished", you won´t ever get it, as client task status is reported by Agent, and there is no Agent, to report "finished" status. Basically the same is valid for "Stop Managing / Uninstall ERA agent task".

I am unistalling from erac, using "Stop Managing (Uninstall ERA Agent). I see, i understand, thank you for your information.

Maybee in future development this could be somehow fixed, because at first i though the task was not successfull at all, the messeage is confusing.

  10. Dear all!

I am testing my new agent uninstall task. No matter how i try i alwas get task failed messeage. But, the agent completly removed from the target machine, event log said: Windows Application log: Product: ESET Remote Administrator Agent -- Removal completed successfully. Sooo why is the error at the console??

Test environment: win7 x64 enterprise Tried with multiple computers, agent and client both installed with push install from erac, and works fine. I am using ESET Remote Administrator (Web Console), Version 6.4.266.0

I checked google, and this forum not found similar problem, if so please show me the right topic.

    Thank you.
