	Hello,
</p>

<p>
	Another year has come and gone, and a brand new year is just a few days away.
</p>

<p>
	On behalf of everyone at ESET, I would like to take this moment to wish all of you season's greetings, happy holidays, and the hope that the new year brings you much joy, peace and success.
</p>

<p>
	<img alt="EMS_christmas_thumbnail.jpg" class="ipsImage ipsImage_thumbnailed" data-fileid="35766" data-ratio="100.00" data-unique="wtikedcgy" width="250" src="//media.invisioncic.com/Meset/monthly_2024_12/EMS_christmas_thumbnail.jpg.9a43bf5dd3596a3d105afe3f2e3186f3.jpg">
</p>

<p>
	It seems that every time I set down to write one of these things, my thoughts drift to all the, well, scary things that happened in the past year.  The malicious software, the hacks, the cyberattacks.  And it's hard not to think about what a pretty grim picture that all paints.  However, the biggest, most impactful "cyber event" was not one of these, but this summer when a competitor pushed out a bad signature update that knocked their customers offline, in some cases for days.
</p>

<p>
	I didn't sit down here to write about them or that incident.  After all, this is ESET's forum and we want to talk about ESET-related things here.
</p>

<p>
	That incident, though, made me think a lot about the trust all of you put into ESET's software and services.  Trust can be freely given, but it is also something that's earned, and it can be all too easy for it to evaporate in the blink of an eye when something you trusted, well, breaks that trust.
</p>

<p>
	For many years since before I joined ESET, all of the programmers, QA engineers, release engineers, tech support engineers, technical writers, and many other folks who work behind the scenes have striven to put out solid code releases that you can trust, whether it be at home, school, or work.
</p>

<p>
	And in the years since I have joined ESET, I have watched and marveled as the process that we go through to release any kind of update, whether it be detection logic, change to existing code, a new module, etc. has become a journey of checks and balances, measurements, and tests that have been put in place to ensure that every single byte is a quality release.
</p>

<p>
	This is not to say that every release is perfect.  It is hard to make something that works on millions and millions of different devices and configurations.  But we always work as quickly and diligently as we can to fix anything, all the while ensuring that those fixes are a solid quality release.  I cannot begin to count the times I've seen someone report a false positive in the forum, only to read a response of "We've just fixed it, please perform an update and you'll be okay." from one of ESET's engineers or technicians.
</p>

<p>
	Recently, I just celebrated my nineteenth work anniversary at ESET, and have been able to reflect upon what a wonderful opportunity it has been to watch a small, scrappy company from Europe grow into a not-so-small, but still scrappy company with a presence around the globe.  I know that would never have happened if we had not earned your trust, and that is something I am never going to take for granted.
</p>

<p>
	I cannot really say what the future holds for any of us--I mean, I'm sure I could prognosticate about how attacks will get more frequent and worse, but that's not exactly going to be a surprise to anyone these days, is it?  What I can say is that my colleagues and I have worked hard to earn your trust and will continue to do so to keep earning it through 2025.  Thank you for giving us that opportunity.
</p>

<p>
	Best regards,
</p>

<p>
	Aryeh Goretsky

	</p>

	<p>
		<strong>BRATISLAVA, Slovakia</strong> – <strong>May 29, 2024</strong> —  ESET, a global leader in cybersecurity solutions, is proud to introduce ESET AI Advisor, an innovative generative AI-based cybersecurity assistant that transforms incident response and interactive risk analysis. First showcased at RSA Conference 2024, the new solution is now available as part of the <a href="https://www.eset.com/int/business/mdr-ultimate-protection/" target="_blank" rel="external">ESET PROTECT MDR Ultimate</a> subscription tier and <a href="https://www.eset.com/int/business/services/threat-intelligence/" target="_blank" rel="external">ESET Threat Intelligence</a>.
	</p>

	<p>
		Unlike other vendor offerings and typical generative AI assistants that focus on soft features like administration or device management, ESET AI Advisor seamlessly integrates into the day-to-day operations of security analysts, conducting in-depth analysis. Building on over two decades of ESET’s expertise in AI-driven endpoint protection, the offering provides detailed incident data and offers SOC team-level advisory. This is a gamechanger for companies with limited IT resources who want to utilize the advantages of advanced Extended Detection and Response (XDR) solutions and threat intelligence feeds.
	</p>

	<p>
		“As cybersecurity threats become increasingly sophisticated, ESET remains committed to providing cutting-edge solutions that address these challenges. The ESET AI Advisor module represents a significant leap forward in our mission to close the cybersecurity skills gap and empower organizations to safeguard their digital assets effectively,” said Juraj Malcho, Chief Technology Officer at ESET.
	</p>

	<p>
		One of its primary benefits for this new solution is <strong>closing the cybersecurity skills gap</strong>. Security analysts of all skill levels can use ESET AI Advisor to conduct interactive risk identification, analysis, and response capabilities, which are provided in an easily understandable format. The user-friendly interface makes sophisticated threat data actionable even for less experienced IT and security professionals.<br>
		 <br>
		The ESET AI Advisor also <strong>excels in facilitating faster decision-making for critical incidents</strong>. Security analysts can simply consult the ESET AI Advisor to understand the specific threats their environment faces. Leveraging extensive XDR collected data, the ESET AI Advisor identifies and analyzes potential malware threats, providing intuitive insights into their behavior and impact. It assists in recognizing phishing attempts and advising users on how to avoid falling victim to fraudulent emails or websites. By monitoring network traffic, the ESET AI Advisor can flag unusual or suspicious behavior, helping security teams take appropriate action. Its ability to automate repetitive tasks is an additional advantage. By managing routine processes such as data collection, extraction, and basic threat detection, it allows security teams to focus on more strategic initiatives.
	</p>

	<p>
		In ESET Threat Intelligence, the new module will help researchers analyze vast quantities of unique APT reports and understand latest development in world of cyber threats. With its conversational prompts and interactive dialogue, ESET AI Advisor empowers organizations to analyze and mitigate threats effortlessly and fortify their cybersecurity posture.<br>

	Today (February 25) we plan to release a Detection engine update with expected size around 12,2 - 12,4 MB.
</p>

<p>
	We expect that the update will be available on the update servers for the clients to download at around 14:00 CET (+/- 30 minutes).
</p>

<p>
	This change will optimize the way how we store the data and will reduce the Detection engine size, it's memory footprint and also will make further updates smaller.
</p>

<p>
	The Micro updates scheduled on February 26 will have the weekly update package around 13 MB in size and the monthly update package up to 15 MB.

<p>
	Hello Forum users,
</p>

<p>
	As most of you probably know, Google is shutting down Google+ later this year - and as one of the shutdown steps, the Google+ login will stop working too. Since Google+ is one of the login options on our Forum as well, we have prepared this post with information about the process.
</p>

<p>
	While the shutdown will happen on March 7, 2019, some login attempts may intermittently fail starting today (January 28, 2019), as Google is shutting the service down gradually. In case your login attempt via Google+ fails, please try again.
</p>

<p>
	We anticipate an update to the forum soon. This will replace the Google+ login option with a Google account login option, which will continue to work after the social network ceases its operation. The switch should be seamless and you should be able to continue using your accounts just as before.
</p>

<p>
	In case you have a dedicated Forum username and password, you can also use these to log in, regardless of the current status of the Google login plugin.
</p>

<p>
	Users logging in via different social channels or with Forum credentials are not affected by this change.
</p>

<p>
	Regards,<br>
	Tomas

<p>
	Hello forum users,
</p>

<p>
	ESET Security Forum is here for you for more than 5 years now and we are happy to see it grow.
</p>

<p>
	Back in 2013, we chose a look that was in line with our products, websites and overall brand at that time. However, in the recent years, ESET defined its brand design in more details and chose a unique color to represent and distinguish itself; a color that is present in most of our online and offline presentation materials nowadays, on our websites, etc. – the turquoise color.
</p>

<p>
	During the past year, we have designed a fresh new theme for the ESET Security Forum that fits perfectly with this new brand design. After implementing it and polishing the last few details that came as feedback from our ESET Forum staff (who have been using it for some time now), we are ready to unveil it for the world to see.
</p>

<p>
	When you are reading this post, the theme is already live, so you have a first-hand experience with it. We hope you like it – and in case you spot an issue, do let me know directly (via a private message).
</p>

<p>
	On behalf of the ESET Security Forum staff,<br>
	Tomas

<p>
	Hello,
</p>

<p>
	Based on your feedback, and in order to further improve user experience on our forum, we have just launched a new feature - reputation rank badges.
</p>

<p>
	These image badges, shown in user info pane next to each user's posts, reflect their <a href="https://forum.eset.com/topic/11710-reputation-ranks/" rel="">reputation rank</a> and provide a better visual understanding of the user's level of experience on our forum.
</p>

<p>
	We hope that you like this addition and that it will make using our forum just another bit easier and more interesting!
</p>

<p>
	On behalf of ESET Staff,<br>
	Tomas
