  1. Hello Cruz,

In most cases this is due to the email address itself being compromised. Essentially someone has obtain the password for the account and is using it to send out spam. Please have the enduser, or yourself, change the password for this account. When creating a new password for this account please make sure to follow good guidelines. Some good guidelines can be found by clicking here.

    Thank you

  2. Hello dkrumholz,

This is not a virus or malware. This is, as stated above, a potentially unwanted application. These are applications that come attached with other programs or updates for programs already installed on the computer. In general they can create security issues for your computer and we are trying to warn you about them. For a more detailed description of these types of detections please click here . Most of these can be uninstalled from the system, and we suggest looking there first, although Conduit is getting more and more dificult to remove that way. If you have any issues with removing a PUA please contact us as we will be more than happy to assist you further with these. Our contact information can be found here.

  3. Hi Jeff

There should not be a need to use wild cards as you can block from IP and Domain as well as by email address. This is illistrated in our Knowledgebase article soln3307. This may not be possible due to the version of ESET Mail Security you are using. Please make sure you are using the latest version per this link.
Please reply to this post if you have further questions.
    William

  4. "a few days later the cleint tells me that that domain still is'nt working so i added it to the ignroed list is this ok ?."

Yes this should be fine and if it is ESET blocking these emails it should correct the issue.

As to your second question "Retained" means it is not discarded. In other words the email in question was sent on and Exchange handled it from that point on. It was not marked as spam.

  5. Hello Mike,

I just wanted to let you know we have seen your post and we are looking into the rules you want to create. I also wanted to let you know that the blank sender issue has been resolved in our latest version of ESET Security for Microsoft Exchange (4.5.10015). This was released yesterday and can be downloaded here. We will be testing these ideas and should be able to give you an answer early next week.

  6. If you have made the change in the policy it will not update that information until the system checks into Remote Administrator. If you would like this setting to be made on install then you will have to make that change in the Manage Packages area found in the Remote install tab (right click>Manage Packages). Once you are in this section select your install package from the drop down menu and then click Edit.

All install packages created in the Remote Administrator will by default set the hostname in the Remote Administration section.

Also if you are not seeing the policy change at all then please make sure you are setting the policy under the correct Product type in the Policy Manager.
