  1. Have/had a problem with this combination (and solved it).

Was running Bandicam 3.0 with Eset Smart Security 9.0 without problems. After installing Bandicam 3.01 and trying to run it it freezed my system but just before freeze I saw ESS 9 window popping up to keep existing firewall rule for bandicam or to refuse it. Couldn't click at all and had to reset pc.

After several unlucky attempts to find the cause I tried to disable all protection [ESS 9, closed malwarebytes and malwarebytes anti-exploit]. Bandicam ran fine. Restarting malwarebytes tools, again no problem. Then I tried to enable ESS 9 and to start bandicam... freeze and needed reset. Removed the old bandicam rule from ESS 9 and put in a 'tcp out' rule for bandicam manually. Started bandicam and it went smooth. No freeze and recording was fine.

    /thanks

    -----------------

Have put this message to bandicam developer too.

  2. since i didnt see any error by doing the same procedure, i would suggest to go to the control panel, uninstall a program, find the eset entry and double click it.

then select to repair the installation.

after that reboot the pc. and check if it persists.

I've done what you suggested (repair). It seems fixed. Thank you :)

    /cheers

  3. I've found a site blocked by Eset while I've visited it before without problem. I'm wondering what is the cause of this block?

  4. @Arakasi  I have deleted old warcraft port forwarding in ESET put it to interactive and started playing. Few ports are forwarded now and I have had no issues with portforwarding yet.  Btw playing the the beta (draenor) besides the regular game. Seems it's 'working like intended' (blizzard™) for now.

@Labview707 At the moment everything seems to be working and I dont want to change a winning team (yet). When more trouble pops I will return here and ask for some more help..

    Thanks for replies!

    cheers

  5. The ports to forward on applications to make 'world of warcraft' work are on the sites below

    >> hxxp://portforward.com/cports.htm (scroll to 'world of warcraft')

How to enable ports for each of the application files given to make it work; I can add them but...  *in* and/or *out* and *local* or *remote*? Im not sure about that. Don't want to enable more than necessary ;)

    thanks

    --------

no trouble to open the needed ports in the router

  6. Today I got a new hd to replace the old one. Installed my second pc [win7 32bit],tested new HD,all is fine. Most recent network drivers added (working ok) and went offline to install eset smart security 7.0.302. Seems to work good except I cant find 'network/firewall option in ESS.

  7. How are things coming Faraways ?

Were you able to process and export your event viewer logs ?

Also, i was under the impression your computer network tcpip stack was compromised.

Are you stating you are ok, if you uninstall and return to version 5 ?

Hope you get everything figured out ? Let us know.

I am ok,thank you but work gets in the way sometimes ;) Mr Arakashi I have send you log files + network pictures in pm. Not going to change ESS version to 5 yet as we are still looking

    for a solution.

  8. Ok Faraways,

First lets determine if this is profile based or system based.

    1. Please navigate to Control Panel > Users & create a new user account with member of admin group or admin permissions.

Log out and log back in under that account and see if you still have the same delay obtaining IP from your gateway or router.

If the problem persists, try this now :

    2. Lets have a look at a few things and try both of these from elevated command prompt

        netsh int ip reset

        netsh winsock reset

Then Reboot and test again for the delay.

    3. If still persists, Go into the properties of your adapter and turn off IPv6 and QoS by unchecking them.

Also click on Configure in the adapter properties and go to the Power Management tab to make sure the following isnt checked:

"Allow your computer to turn this device off to save power"

Sometimes the computer will turn the adapter off and it takes a moment to reinitialize  when back in windows.

Try a few of those and see if we get your delay fixed !!!

    4. I will be thinking of other things to try and maybe you could have a look at your services for me and check startup type

        Run > Services.msc

Check services that assist with internet and tcp ip stack like....

        dhcp client

        dns client

        ip helper

        ipsec policy agent

        network store interface service

        RPC

        tcpip netbios helper

Check in properties for start up type and also the Recovery tab to see what actions the system takes upon error.

    5. After its all said and done and you still have the delay, i would ask that you open your event viewer and export the System and Application logs as .evtx files and upload them to a site and PM me the URL to view.

    6. If none of this helps and it were my machine i would system restore or try a repair with windows cd or possible reload because i would be frusterated haha

    Here I am again ;)

Ive done the things you said but sadly no success yet to solve the ESS 6 network issue.

From pt 4. above I have made few screenshots where you can see the startuptype and error handling but I cant upload here (basic + adv uploader) upload skipped due to io-error.. :(

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

To do: eventviewer list.. in progress [will post to u]

[if nothing helps I can do 2 things: put ESS 5 back as it doesnt have the network issue or try ESS 7 beta]

its a nasty little thing going on.. because ESS 5 is working good.

  9. Faraways,

Good day and sorry to hear you're experiencing troubles ...

Can you have a look at this thread and post back here if what this user is describing is exactly as you are experiencing ?

    https://forum.eset.com/topic/702-eset-ss-v6-delays-my-internet/

with that dns cache error you stated... , have you also cleared your dns cache and rebooted to see if that does anything ?

It would be funny if the firewall, or upgrade or what have you, caused a dns mess and the cache just needs to be reset.

I am shooting blind here though, please keep in mind as i dont know what you have tried.

    Hello Sir,

I have read the message at the link you provided. Got the same problem as it comes to the internet delay with ESS 6 while I didnt have the problem with ESS 5.

I cleared the dnscache multiple times but it didnt have any noticeable effect on the network problem. My cpu is from 2010.

    To Mr Marcos,

I have tried your suggestion sadly to no avail. The network will try to connect after restart.. fails (red cross) then stays like this for a while (1+  minute(s)) and then tries again and succesful goes online. This is for every option I tried.

As I use two pc's,the other one (main) using ESS 5.0.2.15 has no problem. After reboot to startup to desktop it tries to connect with the blue rotating thingie and then gets connected.

    thank you

    Faraways

  10. I have worked with ESS 5 and it never had any network problems. Now Im using ESS 6 I have network trouble for quite a while and it's quite

    disturbing.

Note: System clean; checked daily with ESS 6 and Malwarebytes Pro (and regular re-checked with online scan)

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Sometimes PC locks up after reboot and showing desktop. Have to reset 1 or few times more before it continues and works again. Secondly

I see that windows firewall is 'managed' by ESS 6. If my system starts up normally then the network icon shows..then a red mark shows up

on the icon and I have no internet until about 1 minute later it gives an exclamation mark in yellow end shortly after I have online access.

I never had this behaviour when I was using ESS 5. I have found out that I got three errors when starting my PC today.

    1. Timeout error [3000s]: ShellHWDetection

    2. Timeout error [3000s]: dnscache

    3. The Eset service-service (double,no typo!) has locked-up in the starting process

The source for above three is 'Service Control Manager'

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    - Eset config: all options on except anti-theft,gamermode and parental control

    - Win7 [x64] fully updated, Asus P7P55D, Radeon 6850, Intel Core I5, Realtek Gigabit, 8gb RAM

      [latest drivers installed]

    Can you help?

    Thanks

  11. Try clearing the update cache, toggling the update type from regular to pre-release (or vice-versa, if you're on pre-release updates), restarting the computer and then performing a virus signature database update.  Does that make any difference?

    Regards,

    Aryeh Goretsky

@Marcos: I already had tried your solution but it didnt solve the problem. Kept saying that my system was at risk.

@Aryeh Goretsky: Thank you very much as your solution 'clearing update cache, change update to release channel, restart, update virusdatabase .. change back to regular update and restart made my ESS work again flawless. :)

    best regards,

    Faraway

  12. Had a small problem with pc (didnt want to startup) and I had to clear cmos by removing PC battery and clean the computer. Then it worked smooth again with ESS 5.2.15. Had to put new date and time in windows so I adjusted from 1-1-2002 to 3-6-2013. After that I updated to ESS 6.0.316. Updated virusdatabase and all went well. Found out that I had to adjust to 10-6 instead of 3-6.. so I did. Then I got the problem with ESS:

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I get the warning that database is out of date. As you can see last succesful update is 3-6-2013 and signature database is 8434 and set to the right date of today '10-6-2013'

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

When I press update it can take a long time to finish -if at all- in error. Cancel doesnt work when I press it or takes up minutes before it works.

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Tried clear cache in advanced settings to no avail. The warning stays. Saw there is a roll back but that means I not only have to update ESS but also several other things. What is the best option to handle this or am I stuck with the rollback function as last option?

    thank you

    Faraway
