[Suggestion: How about add a "Suggestion" or "Recommendation" for the HIPS and firewall?]

The Live Grid is very effective and usefull for existing version of ESET products.

 

But I believe it can be more usefull.

 

The people, who is using HIPS and Firewall with both interactive mode, have some skill in dealing with threat when ESET shows a warning pop-up. But it will be better to have some "Suggestion" or "Recommendation", based on the Live Grid. Showing signature of the file only is not enough for judgement.

[Eset should be the first to make security software for cars.]

if you are rich enough, buy a new one. if you are not rich enough, get it fixed or sell it to buy a older car.

 

but I agree, this is a new market.

When I tried to download some samples from an anti virus forum, there are two kinds of warning pages after the samples were block by eset.

 

"Access denied" and "Threat detected"

Details: Web page: Threat: Win32/TrojanClicker.VB.NZM trojan Comment: Access to the web page was blocked by ESET Smart Security.

Access denied

* I delete some letters in the web page in case no one will click in and get infected.

 

Is there anyone can explain what is the differences between "Access denied" and "Threat detected"?

Are you able to reproduce it at any time and with any malicious link? I'm also interested to know more about your statement "Most of threat can be detected by ESS." Does that mean there are also some undetected threats that one could download and run?

I am testing ESS by downloading zipped infected files from some antivirus forum.

 

Most of threat can be detected by ESS. But the page will be shown like this.

 

I am running windows 8 Pro with chrome(latest version). ESS version is 6.0.136.0.

 

Please let me know is this a bug?
