  1. Since my Kaspersky trial expired yesterday, I gave NOD32 another chance. Things changed since last try: - BIOS update mainborad: ASUS Gryphon Z87, current version is 2103 - BIOS update SSD: Samsung 840 Evo As before, ASUS AI Suite 3 is installed and running. Clean install of NOD32 (not Smart Security!). After the first full scan, I rebooted the system. And after a few minutes, it stalled exactly the same way as before. Update icon showing, everything stops working. Reboot, enabled test mode, cleared the cache, updated the database, rebooted. After 10 minutes of NOT stalling, I rebooted again... now it's working for over an hour. Did you finally fix it? At least for me? NOD32 version info, for reference: Signaturdatenbank: 12023P (20150731) Soforteinsatz-Modul: 6437 (20150731) Updates: 1060 (20150617) Viren- und Spyware-Schutz: 1464 (20150724) Advanced Heuristik: 1158 (20150730) Archivunterstützung: 1234 (20150721) Säuberungstechnologie: 1109 (20150519) Anti-Stealth-Unterstützung: 1081 (20150727) ESET SysInspector: 1247 (20150618) Echtzeit-Dateischutz: 1009 (20130301) Lokalisierungsunterstützung: 1377 (20150729) HIPS-Unterstützung: 1192 (20150728) Internet-Schutz: 1207 (20150708) Datenbank: 1070 (20150721) LiveGrid communication module: 1019 (20141104) Specialized cleaner module: 1010 (20141118)
  2. As Marcos said. They improved their memory scanner. Which revealed a bug in both Asus AI Suite 3 and Gigabyte APP Center, the system utilities of two major mainboard manufacturers. A non-standard memory mapping thing. But only on z87/z97 chipsets, as it seems. Don't you get it? Well, on the ASUS side, the issue persists, when the scanner is disabled. https://forum.eset.com/topic/5202-bsod-ekrnexe/page-3#entry29627 and is instead triggered exactly when NOD32 tries to update, or whatever it tries to do, when it shows that update icon: https://forum.eset.com/topic/5217-eset-smart-security-causing-false-0x00000124-bsods/page-5#entry29919 which looks a little bit like this one (only that my machine freezes when it happens for the first time, so there is only one update icon): https://forum.eset.com/topic/4027-eset-smart-security-crashing-and-restarting-in-windows-10-build-9926-ess-version-80304/#entry23839 and it sounds like this one: https://forum.eset.com/topic/4027-eset-smart-security-crashing-and-restarting-in-windows-10-build-9926-ess-version-80304/#entry27917 Never mind,
  3. Trying to reproduce the problem would mean to eagerly build a test system that shows the error, wouldn't it?
  4. Oh?! So here is my vote then. Hello forum. NOD32, ASUS Gryphon Z87, Windows 7. System freezes a few minutes after boot, exactly at the moment when NOD32 tries to update. That is when the spinning icon appears on the task bar. It happens always. No, I can not provide a dump, because it stalls completely. No, I will not remove my system utilities. Please get this fixed, But take your time, I have 23 days left for my Kaspersky trial.
