  1. As of today the Secure Browser module has auto-updated from 1335 to 1336 on our PCs and MS Edge is now working again with Browser Script Scanner enabled on Endpoint v11.0.2032.0 We were not willing to use beta pre-release modules on production systems - this is actually an ESET recommendation. Now maybe we can have our holiday Change Freeze for real!
  2. Looks like it WAS a SNORT rule failure as per @bitfiddler
  3. OK thanks, so we disabled the SNORT rule SID: 2012870 and updates are working again for now. For a long term solution we will create a firewall rule to bypass IPS to all ESET update server IP addresses listed in: https://support.eset.com/en/kb332-ports-and-addresses-required-to-use-your-eset-product-with-a-third-party-firewall#EPNS especially the IPs listed under the sections: To download detection engine updates: To download pico updates:
  4. The last day our firewall IPS has been generating a LOT of Snort IPS (Intrusion Prevention System) warnings about passwords being sent out in cleartext/plaintext over the firewall to ESET servers. SNORT ID below SID: 2012870 ET POLICY HTTP Outbound Request contains pw This has caused all of the Endpoint clients (in ESET PROTECT console) to report failed update/cannot reach ESET update servers. This warning has not happened previously, and the SNORT rule isn't a new one. Has anyone else seen this?
  5. We just received an email yesterday (30/10/2023) from au.marketing[at]security.eset.com that gave us 2 WEEKS NOTICE that on-prem Protect products are discontinued on November 13, 2023. What's going on? There is no news of this that I could find on the support forums or ESET tech support. Has there been a security scare with on-prem products? Does the EOL of Centos and lack of migration path to Rocky Linux for the Protect appliance have anything to do with this announcement? We're in the dark on this sudden direction change for ESET Protect. Here's the first section of the email: Subject: ESET l Major Announcement l Discontinuation of ESET PROTECT On-Premises Products Dear Valued Partner, Amidst our ongoing communication and dedicated efforts concerning On-Prem to Cloud Upgrades and Cloud Migration campaigns in 2023, we wish to update you on a crucial development related to our On-Premises product offerings. As of November 13, 2023, all ESET PROTECT On-Premises products will no longer be available for new purchases in the ESET Partner Portal. In addition to this, we regret to inform you that ESET PROTECT Essential On-Prem and Essential Plus On-Prem Products will no longer be accessible for renewal, enlargement, upgrades, or downgrades in the ESET Partner Portal.
  6. Same problem as OP, Win10, Outlook 2013. "Email Protection by client plugins is non-functional" Have rolled out 9.1.2060 to a few test PCs. Some have the Alert error, some don't. This is after the PCs were upgraded over the last few months from 8.0.x to 8.1.x to 9.0.x to 9.1.2057 ONLY upgrading to 9.1.2060 introduced the Alert. Clicking Enable plugins does make the Alert go away. How can this be done easily through Protect console? Sending a Task?
