  1. I'm trying to reject (ESET should notify and ask me first) access for some ports (80,443,8080,22, and others) from my local network. -for the whole internet it's already protected from Windows Firewall and my router settings and all access are blocked. But for local network, it's opening and allowing. I did the following: 1) Created a rule in the firewall. 2) Set the settings as the following: 2.1) Direction: In 2.2) Action: Ask 2.3) Protocol: TCP 2.4) Local window > Ports: 80,443,8080-8082,21-23 2.5) Remote window > Zones: Private addresses It is working great as expected (everyone in the local network trying to access any of these ports; the app will notify me whether to allow or reject it). But, the problem is, sometimes when I first logon to Windows, it asks me, and from time to time (idk when it happens, but randomly i think), it asks me. That's the first thing. The second thing is, is this rule really secure? or did i do something unnecessary and put my device in danger? -- Specs: OS: Windows 11 Product: ESET Internet Security
  2. hmmm, yeah, i understand now. So basically, LiveGrid is a detection feature while LiveGuard is a prevention feature. like the idea of IDS and IPS, i think. Thank you so much.
  3. Hello. First of all, I don't know if it's LiveGuard & LiveGrid or are completely different feature or they are the same. I'm using ESET Internet Security, the trial version (yet), I have LiveGrid feature perfectly fine and working great. I'm preparing to subscribe to the product, but before that while I'm looking in the help page and also in the ESET homepage, I have found that the LiveGuard is only available in ESET Smart Security Premium. Please, check these two photos, for more explanation: On homepage and help pages: On the program I have installed (ESET Internet Security) - LiveGrid I don't know, but I think these are two completely different features, but what are differences between them. I have detailed information about LiveGrid, but i don't know about LiveGuard. Can someone explain? Thanks in advance. Stay safe.
  4. Thanks for the quick reply. Okay, I got it, that's great. What about the first question:
  5. Hello. I'm confusing about the policy of LiveGrid®. First of all, I want to ask a clear question: Does enabling "LiveGrid® reputation system" only and disabling "LiveGrid® feedback system" and also disabling the "automatic submission of samples", will still send my files to ESET cloud lab (manually or automatically)? In this help page https://help.eset.com/eis/15/en-US/idh_config_charon.html, As I understood from this help page, enabling only LiveGrid® reputation system will NOT automatically send files to the lab, is that right? But, in this section "You can choose not to enable ESET LiveGrid®" it says: Does that mean, this feature will continue sending files to ESET cloud lab, even if it's disabled; because it was enabled before? And does this also means automatic submission of samples? Another question: How can I send files (CLEARY MANUALLY) to the Lab for further analysis without enabling LiveGuard feature?
