Hi Foneil, I understand that this (ESET) is new software (for me) but I already install different antivirus software in companies for more than 15 years so when it is not a beta product, then I assume that when I read the manuals, FAQs and forums it will be possible for me to handle it. About installing version 6 in Europe instead of version 5... The current AV solution of this company stops end of march 2015, if I have to learn ESET 5 first and install it and 2 months later learn version 6 and upgrade everything...then that's a waste of time. I install version 6 now and I post all the problems I see so that it may help others too and I hope that people who give a solution (including ESET dev.) see this as something positive! What's the reason anyway that it is only for USA ? If it is only because of the language, I don't see that as a specific technical reason. Thanks.

I have version 8 clients and server. One of the clients has the AGENT installed and needs the antivirus package also. The package is normally installed via a client task but for some reason, nothing happens. In the executions tab, there is no message about this installation. With every piece of software, I like to be in control about the installation process. With this I mean that when I doubleclick on the install file, I want the installation to start. This is not the case here and I hope that ESET will distribute documentation to install everything via patch deployment (gpo or something else) with all install parameters documented. I don't have the time to *WAIT* on a server for when he is ready and willing to install software. How can I force the installation so that it happens *now* and not in 5 minutes/1 day/maybe sometime/or never ? thanks, Verus.

Hi, I can understand that but the clients who have the agent already installed need an uninstall first. I tried with a reinstall task but that doesn't work (nothing happens), however when I first uninstall the AGENT, then it works again with the install task so this is really annoying.

Hi, I have some clients (server and agents version 6) who need an AGENT reinstall. They have the agent installed but that was done with a previous test server (which isn't operational anymore) so now these clients have the agent installed but don't come up in the new environment because of the certificates maybe ?? I would like to know how I can connect these clients to the new environment. I tried a new software install via console and the .bat file but that doesn't work, a new installation isn't executed because the AGENT already exists. How can I do this ? The lack of support to reinstall via command line with all options makes this difficult, otherwise I would force a reinstall via patch management but this is not possible because I can't give all the necessary info in the parameters (or they are not know but I can't find it in the manual). thanks, Verus.

Hi, I have the same question. We have AVG installed and need to change with ESET 6. I also have patch management up and running (glpi + ocs-ng) and the most easy would be if I could remove AVG and install ESET via my patch management. Is it possible to install ESET 6 AGENT and the antivirus manually ?? With this I mean, download it manually (agent and AV software) exe or msi and deploy it manually ? - I want to install the agent automatically (offline installation) with all parameters included in CLI (so that I can distribute it via patch management) but I don't find this info in the manual, only to do it via GUI. - the same with the AV product but I can't download it manually, only via a repository in the software install. I want to do this via patch management because all our software is installed via patch management and it is easier to make priorities. I could make a packe to remove AVG with a higher priority than the ESET AV installation. thanks, Verus.

I installed the apache proxy with the ERA server installation, which works fine now (our installation is 200 clients so not that much). This ERA6 looks good but documentation is a little bit unclear sometimes and I hope that KB articles will get as good as they are for version 5 and hopefully policies etc to download.

What is the difference between the "apache http proxy" and "Proxy-6.1.265.0_x64.msi"

I now installed mysql and in the x64\installers directory I install the Proxy6.1 package. However, when I choose mysql, I get the message: It is not possible to store big blocks of data in the database. Please configure the database server first. What do I have to do with that ? - Via the setup, I installed the APACHE HTTP PROXY during installation, is that the same as REMOTE ADMINISTRATOR PROXY in the install directory ? - I try to install the proxy via the installer directory and I have to choose a SQL/MySQL server but the installation was already done with SQL express ? This is a new installation (just bought 200 licenses a few weeks ago) and the antivirus client is version 6.1.2109.0 This is exactly what I meant, I wanted the clients to update via the local server to limit internet traffic. If I can do it with that http proxy, it's fine too, is there documentation about that ? Will the clients also update when they are not connected in the network ? (when they work remotely)

The documentation on ERA 6 doesn't mention this too, if you sell a new product, the documentation should be complete. Hi, I installed ESET 6 (active license) and I am testing the dynamic groups but there seems to be a problem with it. When I create a dynamic group and I add a template to it (which I made) then I shows NO DATA AVAILABLE and I know that it should contain data. I even made a new group and a new template which is exactly the same as another existing template (windows computers template) and my dynamic group with my template (which is the same as the one that already exists) shows no data...however everything is the same ?? This looks like a bug to me ? Or am I doing something wrong ? Thanks, Verus.
