  1. Yes, thanks. It seems the clean install has sorted it. Perhaps I will go for the clean install option when upgrading in the future.
  2. Slight change to the above...........all three chrome alerts suddenly showed up together about 5 minutes later! Weird I know, explorer ones are instant. EDIT......it just did the no alert with internet explorer too. I will try a reboot and see what happens. When I installed 7 I did the over the top installation and after that upgraded to windows 8.1. So I have done an uninstall and cleaned out any remains before doing a fresh install of ESS 7 which seems to have done the trick so far. I will update if there are any changes. For the info of anyone else having the same problems.
  3. Hi, When I am using google chrome as a browser, any desktop alerts do not show. I have tested with the eicar test file, and they are being detected fine, but there is no alert showing on the desktop. This alert works fine when using internet explorer. I have been into advanced setup and set it to alert when in full screen mode, but this makes no difference. Any idea's ? I am running ESS 7, windows 8.1 ** sorry, title should read Alerts NOT showing when using Chrome...........my bad**
  4. Cheers, though I am not sure discriminatory is what it is exactly, but it surely makes users confused and customers starts to wonder why they do it this way. And that alone shows that there are better ways to launch a new version. I mean ESET would surely prefer if their users would be excited about the new version Yayyyy!!!!, and not pissed because of a silly release schedule I like the way you put it :-) I agree
  5. I ditto the preference for a woldwide release and not the discriminatory method used at the moment
  6. thank the lord someone sees my point finally and doesn't bash me for my legitamate request!! I need an official answer from ESET staff not people bashing me who are ESET fanboys and blindly defend them! I support ESET, but I am not a blind fanboy I share your frustration. Although it has yet to annoy me so much i have used another product it has certainly annoyed me. I did post ee this on wilders last year. If no one complains then things will stay the same. Lets hope they listen.
  7. Whilst I can see both sides to this debate, I have to agree that this lengthy staggered release system is at best frustrating and annoys me every year. The two or three week gap in my book is too long, and the English version is delayed every year. I can think of no other vendor who delays this long. If they are losing customers then they should listen to their voice instead of carrying on regardless. Perhaps they could review this for next year?
  8. What improvements do you mean in particular? ESET already excels in detection and performance when it comes to real-world use. ESET NOD32 Antivirus and ESET Smart Security 7.0.104 beta have been released. Changelog: Added Specialized cleaner Added configuration of action to be taken after a removable device is connected Fixed bugs discovered after the June release As per the above, anything added is an improvement in my book :-) You are speaking to the converted here that Eset is superb, that's why I have used it for years and continue to use it.
  9. I am also looking forward to the further improvements of version 7 when it is released
  10. I have used Eset for years and it has never let me down. I personally wouldn't pay much attention to the tests as I don't trust the results. I feel that some of them are sponsored by companies and the sponsors normally end up with a good ranking. I have tried many other of the AV's over the years but have always come back to Eset. You pay your money and takes your choice. I am happy with mine.
