  1. I haven't tried Admuncher yet with ESET,as it still can't filter IE11 and HTTPS.I have continued to support the Admuncher team as I renewed all my licenses over the last few months assuming that the 5.0 is indeed coming. That said,i went ahead and purchased licenses to Adguard after trying it,and that I can say works really well with ESET on my system. No issues,freezes,etc..Anyone with a little extra time should give it a try.I fully intend on switching back to Admuncher when the 5. update is released, but for now I am happy with Adguard.

  2. Hello.Proper removal instructions via safemode are located here :hxxp://kb.eset.com/esetkb/index?page=content&id=SOLN2289

Follow the instructions and reboot when finished. Now you should have no problem installing.

Being it's a new pc,frequently pc's come preloaded with another a/v software.Proper removal of said software is key to a successful install of another a/v solution.Simple uninstall via add/remove programs is not enough. Also, symptoms like this,in my experience, are indicative of  remnants of left behind security software conflicting with Eset. There is a guide here with a removal tool for other a/v software  located here: hxxp://kb.eset.com/esetkb/index?page=content&id=SOLN146.

  3. I have never been huge on testing, especially performance type testing. Results are on a given machine and in a given environment,at a given point in time.Every pc environment is different.Every users habits are more or less different. While I am new to Eset,I am far from new to internet security, and have been using Webroot and or KIS for a very long time. There is no way that performance testing reflected at all as to what was going on one of my machines.I have found Eset's performance on my mainmachine to be signifigantly better on my machine than either of those other 2.The only thing I could think of is that their performance testing regimen places a huge premium on boot time, which to me is meaningless as I leave my pc on most of the time.I have found the best way to keep a machine safe and running well lies between the user's 2 ears.

  4. Love Samsung's thinking here. It's hilarious. As much as i've always disliked Apple's business tactics,i'd like to see Samsung get theirs as they've made a business out of frequently stealing other company's intellectual property and passing it off as their own.Personally,I would have made it 150 trucks, but of pennies.I don't watch much regular network television, but when I do,i'd like to make it through 1 program without an Apple ad(s) of some kind.I have a huge disdain for most marketing tactics.Back to the story at hand..I would love to shake the hand of the person at Samsung who made the decision to do this.

  5. Pennywise the clown was one of Tim Curry's best roles and IT was one of the better King based programs.Really loving ESET.It's hard to believe it's even running.I had always been meaning to try Eset before as they have always had a great reputation from the devs on down. Some of the brightest minds in the industry work for Eset and post here in the forums and on wilders.I'm glad to be here and hopefully some of the collective knowledge will rub off and I will learn a little something more than I already know.

  6. Thank you Janus and Swex for the warm welcome and the very valuable input. I had both items in question disabled until I received some scholarly advice from someone here. I have always found it better to err on the side of caution especially when using something new than to deal with a potential issue. Thanks again for the welcome and advice, and I look forward to helping others as you have me.

  7. Hello,

I'm a new user here and have a few quick questions.Does ESET advise disabling IE Smartscreen Filter?I know some suites advise disabling it because they claim it can clash with the included protection components.I am assuming ESET's protection will work with or without Enhanced Protected Mode enabled?I have found Enhanced Protected Mode to be of some value.Things are running great at the moment.Adguard even seems to function well with ESET.I came here with the intent of trying ESET for 30 days on 1 machine and subscribing if all works well.I may just convert al the PC's in my household to ESET if in 30 days I feel as great about things as I do now.Color me very impressed to this point.I look forward to further learning about the product and contributing here as well.

    Regards,

    Dan
