  1. I have to say it's been running quite well.I can see no signs of any memory leak with v9.Web surfing is snappy. You can't even tell it's there.Yet more proof you have to take most a/v testing results with a grain of salt.I'm quite satisfied. Will keep my eyes out for any issues and will report back should I notice any.Great job development team.
  2. Sorry for not posting back sooner, but here is a piece of info from what I did with a few peoples machines with the installation stalling at installing drivers.I found that uninstalling, rebooting, and reinstalling the NIC drivers did the trick.
  3. That's great news.Glad to hear all is well. The few systems I had worked on I couldn't find traces in system folder or registry as I suspected that might be the problem.Just goes to show,ESET support is always the first and best option. Thanks for reporting back.
  4. After that you could run CCleaner and check off any registry entries left behind by Checkpoint/zone alarm.Make sure any folders in program files x86,program data, user related to checkpoint/zone alarm are deleted.
  5. Based on my distant past experience with zone alarm,it doesn't uninstall very cleanly at all.It may be worth your time to try running the tool located hxxp://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/zonealarm-uninstall-tool/ and rebooting when finished.I play several MMO's and have never had a single issue with Eset and any of them.
  6. It may be a shot in the dark, but it may be worth opening an elevated command prompt and running the system file checker by typing sfc/scannow and let it complete. If there are issues that can't be fixed by the sfc, reopen an elevated command prompt and copy and paste the following command and allow to complete DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth.You can also try running the Microsoft .NET framework repair tool located here hxxp://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=30135 I only mention all this, due to my having worked on 4 Eset windows 8.1 x64 installs which had this problem and found in these 4 cases, after having done the above, was able to get Eset to install without issue.I wish I had more time to troubleshoot further as to maybe the root causes of the issues.Unfortunately I only do tech related stuf, computer repairs, installs, malware removal in my spare time.I am a manager in a supermarket of all things.Think it's time to get back to school.Tech related work is so much more gratifying.
  7. I have heard from several people with this same exact issue.I would urge you both to contact support https://www.eset.com/us/support/contact/s2/?art=soln2955&seg=home If users take the time to report this to support and supply them with the necessary logs upon request, this issue may be able to be fixed quickly. As always, with Eset, support is free of charge for licensed users. Their tech agents are quite simply the best at what they do. Please do report back to thread upon resolution of your cases, as it may be beneficial to others.
  8. Merry Christmas and Happy New year to the Entire Eset family as well as all the forum helpers and end users.May your holidays be productive, enjoyable, and malware free.
  9. I also have a 150/150 fiber FIOS connection, however I am not having the problem you are seeing.I use win 8.1 x64 and use ESS along with WSA and Adguard.I have not tinkered with any settings other than setting up exceptions for WSA and Adguard.
  10. It's always been a pet peeve of mine why everytime a new OS is beta'd/previewed and introduced and all these people download it and expect all their software to work.I have seen this in each and every forum I participate in(no need to mention names). It's not the devs job to get their software working with preview/beta software. It's only their obligation to get it working with final code.Code can change immensely and frequently during a development cycle. To expect a development team to participate in such a rollercoaster is unrealistic and unwarranted. When you run preview/beta software, you do so understanding that there are limitations and that some things most likely will NOT work. It's like playing Russian roulette. It's something you have to learn to deal with if you want to be the first one to run something.I would certainly hope this does not turn into a flood like I have seen elsewhere. It's a preview.I am 1000% sure that ESET,and others, will be compatible when code is final. No point in doing it before then as it is huge waste of development resources.
  11. Hello, Just follow the directions in this KB article and you should be good to go.hxxp://kb.eset.com/esetkb/index?page=content&id=SOLN2289&actp=search&viewlocale=en_US&searchid=1412071981857
  12. If there is one thing that sets Eset apart from the rest of the pack,it's support without a doubt. It is a beta, and as such.i would certainly expect issues. That's the whole purpose of beta testing..to have come to light issues which the testing lab cannot replicate.I would certainly advise patience. Not every issue will be squashed quickly. Some will take longer than others as I am sure you will know.Just be sure to use the built in support form or hxxp://www.eset.com/int/beta/form
  13. It's been flagged at Sucuri sitecheck as hosting malicious code, and now has been detected as a malicious site by 3/58 at virustotal for the cue-splitter page.I'd stay away for the moment.
  14. I,for one, would not trust any website owner, authorized reseller or otherwise, with a page that is in various states of neglect.Quite a few areas have not been updated in a long time, and some of the coding is quite poor.Definitely would not purchase anything from them.Better to be safe than sorry. There are far more reputable places to do business.
  15. I feel where you are coming from SCR.I have found ESET does the job superbly without all those heavily marketed bells and whistles.I'm so glad I switched to ESET.
  16. I have had no issues whatsoever using adguard with ESS.Adguard works well with pretty much any security suite.I have it installed on all my machines,a win7x64 with KIS and 2 Win8.1 Pro X64 machines with ESS.I also have installed it on others machines with solutions like Norton and Bitdefender and it seems to get along really well.I would probably just ad the following to exceptions just to play it safe: the program files folder for adguard, the program data folder for adguard, and the users roaming folder (insoft).I usually keep the adguard assistant disabled as I have seen it slightly affect page load time.If you need to use the assistant to block an element you can always just re-enable it.Also, under network options, make sure use WFP network driver is unchecked if you are running windows 7.On win 8.1 machines there have been a few isolated issues with compatibility with the WFP network driver in adguard and some av's.I have confronted no such issue personally as my regular config in win 8.1 is ie11 with epm enabled as well as 64bit processes enabled, with adguard WFP network driver checked.I am a huge fan of adguard. It can pretty much do anything. The best thing I ever did was to ditch admuncher.I had grown tired of the years of promises of an update coming.I would have to say adguard was the best software purchase I have made in the last year, outside of Eset that is.
  17. Great to have another former Webrooter here.I still help out on their forums from time to time, but I have not been happy with this years edition of WSA to say the least.A great many issues from websurfing with the new filtering extension,to fp's and various other annoyances.I never thought i'd see the day where I would remove Webroot from every single computer in my home.I have been beyond satisfied with Eset.I have not encountered 1 single issue in 4 months with Eset:not 1 fp,not 1 crash, not 1 infection.I hope you continue to find Eset worthy of protecting your computers.Welcome to the Eset family
  18. I would recommend an image based backup solution versus using System restore as System restore is limited in it's scope.External hardrives are cheap these days and there are free imaging software programs out there.I however use Acronis True Image.I back up while I sleep a few nights a week.It has saved me on more than 1 occasion over the years.
  19. I have never been big on testing as it can never replicate a user's unique environment.I have had the exact opposite experience with Eset.Eset has been,by far,the most stable, smooth running security app I have used in a very long time.I have found this years WSA to be problematic at best.I have communicated several issues to WSA support, and have also grown quite tired of opening a ticket to get an unknown file whitelisted just to get it running smoothly. Also, before I get bashed for being as Eset fanboy, understand this,i am a Webroot community guide and have been with WSA since the beginning.I build and repair pcs when I have spare time, and I still install WSA on some systems.I just will not use it on any of my machines anymore.I will periodically try it after an update, but a lot of the same issues I have had with it are still there.Rather than trolling a forum,i have maintained a continuous dialogue with support.I like to see kinks in software worked out and running smoothly.I absolutely hate buggy software.I avoid it like the plague.Every user, every environment is unique. While I am happy WSA works for some,it did not work for me.I am elated with how well Eset runs on 2 machines here.I cannot fathom at this time running anything else
  20. Hello, To submit a suspicious file, website or possible false positive to ESET for analysis, follow the instructions for your issue using the link below: hxxp://kb.eset.com/e...soln141&ref=esf
  21. Hello Hoffmann.SOunds like to me,based on these symptoms, that you left your suite installed when upgrading the OS,which can sometimes lead to some bizarre and unforeseen consequences like you have encountered.I have seen some suites flag processes during an OS upgrade as virus like activity. As a matter of best practice,it's always better to fully remove a security suite prior to an OS upgrade.AT this stage,a simple uninstall of ESET,followed by a reboot, then a reinstall of ESET should solve your problem. You also might want to run the system file checker from an elevated command prompt to make sure there are no corrupt OS system files: click on search:type in cmd, right click cmd and run as administrator, then type in sfc /scannow and enter.Should take 15-20 minutes or so to finish. Please post back to this thread and keep us updated with your current status of this problem.
  22. I have always believed most testing to be bogus as it can never replicate the user's environment, habits, etc. One such example is av test's performance scores for eset. The scores in the test were in no way indicative of how ESET would function on my machine.ESET has been amazing.I just purchased a 3pc license after 2 weeks of trial and have been more than satisfied.I am leaving behind over 300 days of KIS remaining and over 450 days of WSA remaining. There is no doubt in my mind ESET can protect my machines adequately. Some extremely intelligent and wise people here and on Wilder's use ESET,as well as some really bright people in the IT industry.I have chosen to use ESET on it's own even though I could use WSA with it.I have found ESET to be extremely stable most importantly, which is something the programs I used to use lack somewhat at this time.I plan on changing over all my machines as time allows.
  23. Hello.I can also verify the same as puff-m-d and pavilion_alex.
  24. Excellent. Please post back should you confront any further issues.
