  1. Hi, I'm using ESET IS 15.x and it has three tiles in the home section: Network Inspector, Banking & Payment Protection, and Security report. In version 14.x it had Computer Scan in the home section., but it's missing in 15.x. Is there any way to bring this back? Thanks
  2. Thanks everyone for your help. I thought there might have been a solution within ESET as I frequently find myself in situations with port unavailability. Programs like pyCharm, LiveServer(VSCode), torrent, etc etc all require port access. When using one or more, some other one doesn't seem to work as it issues a "cannot obtain port" error. Looking in Resource Monitor > Listening Ports doesn't lead to much. I end up restarting the PC. I'll look deeper into these programs and try and restrict their port ranges to avoid conflict. I don't want to make this any more complicated than it should be. Thanks.
  3. Hi, Using ESS 14.0.22 here. I was wondering how to reserve a port to a specific application e.g. app1. If other applications try and take over the port (even if app1 is not running) it will deny those applications from using that port. Is this just a matter of specifying the port in Advanced > Firewall > Advanced > Rules > Edit > "local tab" > Port?
  4. Thanks. I might try a custom scan, deselect all components, and then add each component one by one to see what level of scan GlobalProtect finally allows me to connect on. Would anyone know how a VPN client determines a full scan has been completed? Is there a flag setting in the registry that is set that the client refers to? I'm guessing there is some API that is used to garner this information. Thanks.
  5. Hi, I'm working remotely and log into my company's network via GlobalProtect VPN. The policy set up by GlobalProtect is to run a daily full scan within my antivirus software (ESET Internet Security) before allowing a connection to be made. I have a dedicated laptop that I RDP into which has the bare minimum install of Windows 10, that I make the VPN connection via. It takes around 25 min to perform a full scan to meet GlobalProtect's requirements. Is there anything I can do to reduce the scan time? It makes no sense to me that I need to perform such an exhaustive scan on a daily basis before I can start my work for the day. Thanks.
  6. How can I provide it if I only have the license code itself and cannot add it to license manager to get the public ID as stated in my previous reply
  7. Hi Marcos, That is correct, I had to obtain a trial license so that i can at least get this thing running again. I tried to enter my license into license manager, but I am unable to as I get " This license is used on too many devices.". I recall having installed the license on a few virtual machines for testing, and then I deleted those virtual machines. I noticed this error is related to a situation when a license is used in a different country than what the license has on file. So I don't understand whats going on. Yes, I purchased the license from a reseller. Thanks for any help.
  8. Hi, I had to downgrade from EIS 13.x back to 12.x because Pulse Secure wasn't letting me into my company's VPN and did not like EIS 13.x. However now I get Error Code ACT.33. Does anyone know what this means? I wish EIS had the ability to revert to a previous version, without having to make the user uninstall/reinstall/ enter in license code again. Thanks for any help.
  9. Hi, I have been using eset products ever since I can remember. The trend I am seeing however is that the interface is getting more and more confusing. Settings are now hidden all over the place. I don't understand why there can't be a single settings location where all settings are located. For example, in ESS 4.x you would go to the advanced settings > personal firewall and all your firewall settings would be there. From there you could go to 'rules and zones' and change the protection mode of your computer in the network from public to home/office. Now when you go to advanced settings (in eset internet security) that option is no longer there. Instead you have to go to the start screen > setup > network protection > connected networks > and press the cog wheel to do that. Or am i missing something? Why are things being moved around so much each version? I also don't understand why when I go to start screen > Tools, there is only 'connected home monitor', 'banking', and 'anti theft' showing, and the rest of that screen real estate is bare. But no, I have to press 'more tools' down the bottom to show all the other more important tools like quarantine, log files etc. I feel at times that eset are purposefully hiding things away and making things more complicated for no reason. Maybe it's just me... Fantastic product BTW.
