It's an HP Omen (notebook) And I'm actually using my phone to use this forum. For some incomprehensible reason, this pc was not built with a port for an Ethernet cable, so I'll need to o buy one of those. Should I indeed need to download the driver on another computer, I imagine I could borrow a friend's.

Stackz: It does indeed have the exclamation point-- the issue is thy since I can't access the internet I don't know how to download the drivers. Haha, how annoying. If, somehow, I do manage to reach the Internet, would I need to first uninstall the old driver and then install the new? Or just install? Anyway, I truly, truly appreciate your help. I wish I could return the favor!

Hi-- yes I did use the relevant tool. A new development has come about however: eset asked me to restart my comp, which I did. When it came back on, my computer was unable to access wifi. Apparently windows is now unable to access the drivers for my Intel ac 7260 wireless card. So now I have no idea what to do... Anyway thanks for your help.

Hello-- I will try the unistall now and update. And no, I am not using another AV program. My computer came with either Mcaffee or Nortan pre-installed, but I removed it before installing Eset. EDIT: So I did the manual uninstall, and upon trying to reinstall, it simply does not work. It says: "the Installation was not completed Succesfully. This may be the result of malware activity. To Check the system for potential threats, it is recommended to use the specialty cleaner. Error code: 1603 Fatal error during installation." So now, not matter what I do, I cannot get ESET reinstalled. Again: any help would be very much appreciated + now I am little worried having my PC unprotected and all that. Thank you again!

Hello, I am running windows8 and ever since I installed Smart Security a message has been displayed on the home screen saying that the firewall failed to initialize, which is due to a corrupted install and, finally, that a reinistallation is recomended. Smart Security, however, does not appear in my add/remove programs and I do not know how to uninstall it. Further the newest product update, 8.0.319.0 will not install. It always ends in an error, displaying this message: "service 'ESET service' (ekrn) could not be stopped verify that you have sufficient privileges". I am a big fan, nonetheless, of Eset products and any and all help would be greatly appreciated! Cheers, Jason
